Has this been done?
Can it be done?

Why would you want it, it's horrible? It has prevented from answering a call on several occasions. As soon as I touch the slider it goes to the Send Text for an ignored call and then the screen locks.

That's your opinion. I asked if it had been done or if it could be done, not if you thought it could be done. Find another thread troll.

Re: VZW "Lock" app ported to work on Sprint?

That being said. I found the fix.

Copy devicelock.exe and devicelock.bmp from \Windows on a Verizon TP2 to the \Windows folder on a Sprint TP2 and then assign the Right Soft Key to run that file.

Works great! If I can figure out how, I'm going to make a CAB that will do this automatically and post it up.

I don't know about the VZW "lock" app, but have you tried s2u2 by A_C? I love it and I think it performs the same/similar function. You can find it at ac-s2.com

Yes, I've tried S2U2, and while it looks good, is buggy as hell and it often crashed my phone. I instead purchased PocketShield and it works well, but is a pain because they update it so often to fix bugs they find. I think as it matures it will be a better option but for now, have to maintain it too often.

I like the Verizon lock because it just works.

first time I've ever heard anybody say that was a bad thing........

You aren't required to update by the way, I have used PS from about a year & a half & it is not buggy at all at this point.

I'm not even sure what version they are on now, my version works so well I don't even bother to check for updates anymore........(the latest versions weren't bug fixes anyway, they where adding new features)

Good thing for you. I've personally had nothing but problems. I guess all the bugs find me. Everything from a registered copy popping up trial notices, to background screens popping up, to notifications not showing, or the app locking my phone up all-together. There are major issues with how they implement G-Sensor control as well. They give you a box to control whether to use it, but then they install by default a registry key that forces it on. Which makes accessing the phone in an upright position (triggers the phone to lock) in a car an absolute pain in the ***.

The latest versions added features but they've had more then 2 dozen revisions to correct previous bugs. I beta tested the new version 3 series as well.

Like I said, great product, just too many bugs have found me. Doesn't mean they found everyone else. Could be something I'm doing, but when I report it, they seem to fix it pretty quick.

The Verizon TP2 has the right soft key mapped to it. When you click it, the screen locks. It prevents SMS wakeup from allowing you to butt-dial people. The big advantage is that it very light weight, simple to trigger, and takes nothing away from what TF3D/WM already is.

I'll get screens and link to the app up when I get it tested fully. I've got a CAB being tested Scott Crosler when he gets a chance.
