Is the LCD Screen glass or plastic?

I searched and saw one mention that the Verizon TP2 has a scratch resistant glass screen. Is the touch pro 2 (I own the Sprint version) screen really made of glass? The surface feels like it is made of plastic. I'm wondering if I really need a screen protector? I don't keep the phone in my pocket so there is no chance that metal objects will come in contact with it. Other than that will the stylus cause scratching over time? Thanks!

I believe there is a THIN layer of plactic on top and then its glass. I just read at xda that the phone is a plastic screen. So I maybe wrong.

I run a screen protector, not gonna take any chances with a $600 phone.

One guy on here all ready gouged his, accidents happen.

Thanks guys! Puts it in perspective when you consider the cost of these puppies. I'll use the soap/water method and apply my screen protector. Was really curious if it was like an iphone and have that hard glass screen.

The LCD is glass, but the outter bezel on the phone is plastic...
