Exclamation Loose Goose

The top portion of my phone is loose already.
Is there a way to tighten it?

Re: Loose Goose

Agreed, send it back. Got one for work that was loose out of the box and I didnt even turn it on. You may very well be able to tighten it but why?

Re: Loose Goose

Mine was a little loose out of the box (when tilted only) but I don't have any stuck/dead pixels and I can't find anything else wrong with it so I don't think it is so easy to say "take it back"...maybe next time you will get a tight screen but have 10 dead pixels instead...

Are the Sprint TP2's in stock at stores yet? That would be an easier way to check the replacement before leaving...

You can say anything you want to Sprint. Anything. They aren't really listening, paying attention, or even comprehending you anyway, so it doesn't matter. All you need is an end goal and persistence... eventually, someone there will make it happen.

But yeah, I'd say keep the one with the good screen.

Together, my brother and I have been through five of these, all with dead pixels. My dining room table is covered in defective TP2's, boxes, and UPS prepaid return packs.

On the upside... I now have the ability to do a PERFECT screen protector installation with one hand behind my back. What's up.

Re: Loose Goose

Which portion is loose?

Disassembling is pretty straight forward. Four T4 (I believe) torx screws, and then four small Philips screws that hold the upper half to the lower. The tilt hinge seems to use a spring for resistance, (also with a small catch to hold the top half down when you tilt it back) although I do not know if you can adjust it, I don't have the piece in front of me at the moment.

Re: Loose Goose

While tilted? You mean there is a little free play untill it catches either up or down? Thats normal, I dont think you can find a device that wont have a little wobble/play in it when its tilted. I have 2 and all others Ive checked all have the wobble....... As long as its not like way way bad or the screen cant stay up without holding it any more, I think your good and im sure a replacement will do the same, and if not at first, then definantly after a couple weeks.

Re: Loose Goose

well yea it does it wen its tilted, but im really speaking about how the top part (w/ the screen) kinda overlaps a lil w/ the bottom part wen closed. the bottom part sticks out a little bit. Its not noticeable unless u actually have it in hand and can feel it.
