Hard Resetting a phone is different from flashing a ROM as well. It is generally recommended to do a *228 option 1 after flashing but ussualy not REQUIRED. Either way, WHO CARES?! Its a less then 2 minute procedure, something that will likely be the fastest step in flashing, it's completely automated and requires no user interaction! Any user of Verizon should be GLAD they can do this, without needing to go to the store or call in to support like a Sprint user needs too, just like how we can update our PRL over the air whenever we want... Lastly, that second link you posted is FULL of conjecture, opinion, and downright false and misleading information and I wouldn't take most of what it says with a grain of salt. The fact remains, the Verizon version is superior for the reasons already listed.

Re: which touch pro 2 is the best
I will not get into the debate of which carrier's phone is better looking as that is subjective and totally a matter of personal taste. IMHO, anyone that ventures into this discussion is really looking for an argument. I was married to a blonde and others are attracted to brunettes and redheads which proves that personal tastes are simply that!.
The Verizon & Sprint models are virtually identical in terms of their specs. The Sprint version does come with Sprint TV which I have yet to use. I switched to Sprint from Verizon because I researched their reception with friends in NYC where I live and Sprint did not have an issue with dropped calls. Their network in the major metropolitan cities I visit also received high grades. By doing so I saved over $700 going to Sprint for the 2 year deal I signed up for based on the great pricing of their calling plans. |

Re: which touch pro 2 is the best
Notice that everyone that has verizon says verizon, and tmobile (me only.lol) says tmobile, and sprint says sprint.
Lets face it all, Were all biast. My T-Mobile touch pro 2 will kick the crap off of all your tp2s.......... J/K, thats just the biastness talking, there simply all the same. Just minor minor diff. but I stand by my statement, WERE ALL BIAST!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)
I have a Sprint TP2, but right now I would put the Tmobile TP2 in first place. 1. can be flashed right now. 2.talk and data at same time.3.fm radio works. But tmobile's network is way too small for me. |

Re: which touch pro 2 is the best
LOL, actually NOBODY is flashing a CDMA TP2 (it can't be done yet)
I'l repeat, I have been flashing phones since my original Apache & you DO NOT have to re-activate a Verizon phone after flashing or hard resetting unless you want to. I have NEVER ONCE re-activated any phone after a flash (or many hard resets) & that includes my xv6800's & my 4 TouchPro's (& my TouchPro's are Sprint phones flashed & activated on Verizon). The funny thing about all this is, it is so simple to reactivate a Verizon phone that if you think it's a problem you CERTAINLY have no business trying to flash one......... I suggest you do a little research & GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, because you really are clueless....... ~John |

Re: which touch pro 2 is the best
Every time I hard reset my Verizon TP2, it forces me to "activate" via *228 before I can use it again. I'm not sure if that feature can be overridden via a custom ROM, or if that's a requirement based on the hard reset erasing some of the phone settings. It doesn't bother me that I have to do that though.
