Re: sprint tp2 on vz network question?

changing your esn on your tp2 to the one from your tp would be illegal (which is stupid because they are your phones) but i think technically it could be done using a couple of software packages

I have been looking into the legality question of esn swapping. Carrier's definitely say this is illegal but the law seems to indicate their must be some harm. The harm to Verizon of you changing the esn from your TP to your TP2 does not seem on its face to harm Verizon (other than a lost potential sale)

Good to hear Verizon is still doing this. They claim to have an "open network" but officialy it is limited to certain devices (and thus far none of them are cell phones ...).

That being said anecdotal evidence points to it being a case by case basis depending on the rep, his/her supervisor, and your luck

What does the sprint TP2 have that you can't get on a Verizon TP2. As far as I know all the hardware is basically the same and the no-contract price is cheaper with big red anyway?

i was thinking the same thing!! i could understand sprint tp on verizon because the verizon tp sucked !! also u might have problems because in the past we were able to tell verizon that that the phone u were activating was from alltel and they would just put in the paper work to add a alltel esn to the network but u cant do that on this problem because alltel doesnt have the tp2 that i know of!!

u might want to ask them to put in paperwork to add a foreign esn to the network!!

The Touch Pro is the last HTC phone that Alltel has and will probably ever have. If you want to check yourself go to http://www.alltel.com and for zip code give 67701. Most of Kansas hasn't been switched over yet (to Verizon) and that should get you into the old site.

They're still selling the Touch Pro for $349. Ouch!
