SD Card Disappears?

Sometimes when I go to File Explorer my SD card will be there and sometimes it wont. If I take the card out and put it back in it shows up for a short time and then disappears again. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there a fix for this that I dont know about? It is very frustrating because I dont want to put a bunch of .cabs on my device.

Thanks!

Re: SD Card Disappears?

I noticed that when I had my phone hooked into my PC and I selected the PC drive mass storage option (can't remember the exact term) the storage card disappeared from the phone's explorer and was available on the PC as a drive. Is this what you are referring to?

Re: SD Card Disappears?

It will disappear from file explorer on my phone and active sync. I am getting a new TP2 tomorrow (because of dead pixels) and I guess I will see if it does it on that device as well. This has been driving me nuts!

Re: SD Card Disappears?

Having the very same issue. A reset will do the same thing (the device then recognizes the SD card) as pulling the card. Very weird. ALWAYS seems to happen subsequent to an ActiveSync connection. (ActiveSync and not Disk Drive)

I'd sure like to know if your problem is solved with a replacement. Thanks!

Re: SD Card Disappears?

I had this problem too as I posted here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=85692

The solution for me was to format the micro sd with fat32 and default allocation with a Card reader on the computer and not the phone as a storage card.

Work great for me now, and hadn't have any problems since.

i have the exact same problem. the card works perfectly in my old TP but doesn't in my new TP2 whenever i try to access it as a storage card.

i'll try reformatting it again to see what happens. thanks for the info.

Re: SD Card Disappears?

Yeah, I had this issue not too long ago too. Apparently the file system on the card got corrupted so I had to format it again.

it's just odd that that i can still use it normally just to access it in fast file transfer mode.

Re: SD Card Disappears?

Yup same here, although it did start messing up when I plugged it into a microsd adapter then into the computer. A format fixed everything though
