Re: Touch Pro 2 has a digital compass!?! answer=no
HAHA, nah I'm loving the 3.6" WVGA 800x480 resolution screen on the TP2, I use it to watch xvid files, no need to convert like my ipod touch!!!
Is there any way to have gps simulate the compass or something? |

Not if you are stopped. If you are moving, it's pointless, so "no" would be the best answer here

Re: Touch Pro 2 has a digital compass!?! answer=no
Let's look at this another way, though. If you are at a point, and you have it pulled up on GPS, then you can see what is in any direction on the map, as well as in person. So it's very easy to interpolate your directional bearings.
Say you are in a town, at the corner of "5th" and "Washington". You see on Google Maps that Washington runs east and west, and the streets parallel to it are also named after presidents. The numbered streets run north and south. You can see that the next cross-street in one direction down Washington is 6th, and the map shows that to be to the east. Now you know all your directions......... |

Re: Touch Pro 2 has a digital compass!?! answer=no
I think everyone missed a key function of a compass, especially when integrated into a smartphone. While a gps indicates position, a compass indicates heading. The combination of both enables certain augmented reality applications like wikitude (not that it is available for ppc anyway...)

Well, the Enegery Leo rom has an compass.exe file (or similar) in the Windows directory. I ran it blindly and it complained about magnetic interference. Haven't tried it outside.
