TF3D SMS is really really slow/laggy... ? Likely due to me having a lot of SMS's ...?

This is my first phone with TouchFlo, previously I had a Titan. I used MyPhone to backup my texts from my Titan restore them on my new TP2. On both my Titan and the TP2, if I use the Windows 6.1 Messaging application, sending/receiving/reading SMS is fast/snappy.

But the SMS functionality of TouchFlo is EXTREMELY slow for me. For instance, if I get a new SMS and change "tabs" in TouchFlo to the SMS one, it literally takes at least 5 seconds to show the message. Doesn't matter who it's from. If I click the message to reply to it, it takes at least 10 seconds to move to the next page, and each reply takes another 5-10 seconds to show up! During each of these lag periods, the phone is completely un responsive and locked up!

Now I DO have a lot of SMS messages, about 9000+ between sent/received. I'm sure this is the cause of this issue as others aren't complaining of it and my buddies phone isn't doing this either... I am using threaded / default. But as I mentioned, this works just fine on my old phone and new, using the built in Messaging program. it's just touchflo having the issue...

I realize many of you may not have this issue since the phone is brand new, but I'm sure you may once you get more texts! If there is no way to fix this... whats the best way to "archive" SMS?

Thanks!

If you want to back up SMS..theres always things like SMSChat but that's a paid program (I have it..much better than TF3D's text message)..you can always also you a backup program like PIMBackup

lol over 9000.

i bet it is due to the large amount of messages you have as the music tab lags out the same way when there is a lot of music on the phone. do you honestly need over 9000 texts? i would just wipe 'em and have it snappier and have more memory available. you also might want to switch over to the windows mobile threaded message view as it seems to be faster than the TouchFLO 3D threaded view.

lol @ over 9000, maybe I should see what the scanenr says.

No, I don't need over 9000, it's just that there isn't an easy way thru the OS to archive them I've found, or delete them easily.

As far as switching top to the WinMo view, is there a way to default to it? Or make the notifications and/or touch flo tab point to it?

there is a thread somewhere in here, might be the tweaks thread, that said how to default to the windows mobile threaded view, very helpful.

as far as if you just wanted to delete them all, just go to your sms folder in messaging and select all of the messaging and just delete them.

Re: TF3D SMS is really really slow/laggy... ? Likely due to me having a lot of SMS's

whats wrong with just not touching the envelope...thats the only way you u see TF messaging anyways...i have like a 100txts and its buggy....its just not ingrated well...hence not even being able mark as read delete etc from the tab itself..TF doesnt look bad...but i dont like it much.... but your 9000 txts arent halping things at all...

i dont really understand the logic of txt packrats.....if their so important to keep for months, whens the last time you looked at most of em...if their names and numbers, turn em into contact already... if their condemning evidence or "argument enders/winners" as i like to call em... print em out... jetcet has a BT Printer option or you can reg hack if you have a PictBrigde printer and print them either of those 2 ways...

just thoughts....phones dont like having big meassage loads like that...especially when u restore that many at once
