Re: HTC Wifi Router with TP2
Not sure if you guys are still having this issue but I think I may have solved it. This is what I did to get it working again, run Wifi Router and connect using your computer. If you get an internet connection then go back to wifi router and make sure you press stop (in other words make sure you properly stop the app instead of just pressing the X)! Not sure if this was just a coincidence but it finally solved my network problem. Hopefully this will help you guys.

Re: HTC Wifi Router with TP2
My PC sees the network with HTC Wi-Fi Router, but it can't connect. I have several options on my Linux system: is the WEP key a key or a passphrase? Is it open system or shared key? Is it ad-hoc or infrastructure? I'm doing something wrong but I can't tell what it is. WEP is turned on in my pc, and the pc sees "WifiSharing" but it won't connect.
As soon as I posted this I connected In Kubuntu, it defaults to entering a 'passphrase', you have to change that to 'key' and then enter the value from the phone. Also change 'mode' from 'Infrastructure' to 'Ad Hoc'. the other settings were left alone. I'm connecting from the phone now. yay. Last edited by aiiee; 03-06-2010 at 10:46 PM. |

Re: HTC Wifi Router with TP2
i would stay away from it. unless you pay for the new version, some people (me included), had to hard reset to fix the phone's data connection. better off just usb tethering.
but no, sprint has never billed me extra for tethering. search for stealth tethering to make sure you do it right and sprint will probably never know anyways.
