Re: Verizon's cheap TP2 vs Sprint's cheap service

There is already a multi page thread on the price differences between Sprint & Verizon.

Hey, so all you guys that had Sprint TPs on Verizon, going to the TP2 is kinda a one-way deal for you right? Once the phone is no longer activated, you can't activate again using the *228 trick right?

I just moved from my Sprint TP on VZW to a VZW TP2, and the One Way Trip was definitely on my mind when I started the activation. I really liked my Sprint TP, but I have to say, I like the TP2 better. I do miss the DPad though, but I am adjusting nicely.

I'm not thrilled about less hardware buttons either (hell, I still miss my old Titan scroll wheel)

Well I hope you like it. I know I love mine & I was basically running the same thing you were and had the same concerns.

I haven't personally used WM6.5, but others report that with the updated TF3D they don't really miss WM6.5 much. And, WM6.5 comes out next month anyway and reportedly these will be upgradable to the newest OS at no additional charge. I think you're going to be very happy when that FedEx driver pulls up and you get to play with your new device.

That is certainly not the case for everyone however. If you happen to be in one of the areas where Sprint's coverage is better than VZ (rare, but it does happen occasionally) then your opinion could be totally opposite of mine.....

~John
It wasn't trash talking and any interpretation that it was simply indicates the interpreter has a degree of insecurity on the subject, for whatever reason.

I don't doubt that VZW's service is stronger, especially indoors, in the places I go. But judging from the service I received from my old Sanyo with external antenna, if my TP was as good as that was, I would have no problem at all with Sprint's coverage. And my TP was about as good as my old Sanyo on the stock ROM with the Telus 1.04 radio. If the TP2 is as good as that was then that's just another thing to make me want to upgrade.
