Re: Thoughts on the Verizon Touch Pro2

I am on Verizon, but not a fan. This phone is great! I have been a tester for the GSM version for some time and I have been chomping at the bit to get CDMA version (GSM has almost no reception near me).

The 6.5 official build will make this one look rusty and antiquated. Trust me.

On the negative side: What kind of retarted company sells a phone with a screen this size and cannot even include a $1 or less screen protector. The world adapters are cool and all, but come on. Luckily I still have some cases from the GSM version.

I'll tell you what kind of retarded company...one that sells a 3 pack of "cut-your-own" screen protectors for 12 bucks. I should ordered some on ebay for 5 bucks but I didnt want to wait. with my luck Id scratch it the first day like I did on my TP. oh well...

Re: Thoughts on the Verizon Touch Pro2

I gotta get a screen protector myself for this gorgeous screen. I do not want to scratch it at all.

I cannot wait until us chefs can cook up some nice roms for this device. I see alot of places to makes changes, especially in trying to trim down the unneeded apps. I would love to be able to get to a point where I have about 100 meg RAM free.

Screen response is ok...it could be better and thats where I think cooking up our own roms is going to help it.

So far the firast 24 hours is very positive.

Re: Thoughts on the Verizon Touch Pro2

Really liking it so far (although my first one died and I'm on my second). I have to weigh in on the side of looking forward to 6.5. Coming from the 6800, the lack of hard buttons makes it tough to navigate to frequently used programs. Too many steps in Manilla. Ran 6.5 on the 6800 for a while near the end, and its much more finger friendly and accessible. It will be great on this device.

Re: Thoughts on the Verizon Touch Pro2

Love mine. Had it for 3 days so far and am getting quite used to it. Coming from an XV6800 (Titan) and love this large screen and many features of it.

Is there a way to get Voice Command to work with the Bluetooth button?

Regarding voice command, the problem there is the garbage Widcomm stack they gave us. Usually when I have problems with Voice command activating with the headset button or hanging up calls with my headset it is because i had my headset turned on when I turned on or reset the phone and it paired during the boot process. Turning off my headset and turning it back on usually solves the issue. Thus, I always make sure to turn off my headset whenever I shut down or reset my phone and not turn it back on until the phone is fully booted. There are still problems such as the audio channel being extremely slow to open and not working with visual voicemail.

Re: Thoughts on the Verizon Touch Pro2

My friend at work got the Verizon one, I have the Sprint one.
For some reason I cannot send him a file with bluetooth. He can send me one and I can receive it. My other friend with a Verizon Titan (i think) can also not send him a file.
We get an error message (I forgot what it is).

We went through all the settings and cant figure it out yet.

Other than that, he loves his phone also and my other friend ordered one too.

Re: Thoughts on the Verizon Touch Pro2

Just got my TP2, and oh my goodness does it ever kick this s**t out of my TP. The additional RAM made all the difference in the world. It's a beautiful phone, and although I didn't have to pay for mine, kudos go to VZW for not gimping the phone and beating all the other carriers with a $199 price tag. I can't wait for the HSPL unlocker and ROMs... woooohooo..

Nate

Re: Thoughts on the Verizon Touch Pro2

I'm not sure why everybody thinks this phone is so bulky, maybe a lot of people are coming from a diamond or touch, but let me tell you I came from a samsung i760 and this thing feels like it's not even there. Awesome phone!
