Re: USB Charging Cradle For CDMA Touch Pro2

Ok, I plugged the HTC-supplied TP2 cable into the same (front) USB port that has always worked for my Fuze, and which still works fine for my Zune, and I only got a 1/4 charge overnight! Went from 23 to 45%.
However, the computer was in standby the whole time. Does the USB port deliver even less juice in standby than when the computer is running? It is strange to me that I am only discovering this limitation with the TP2 and never had any issues before.
Well, if I want to charge and sync without unplugging cables, it looks like I need to get a powered USB hub.

Re: USB Charging Cradle For CDMA Touch Pro2

If you go the powered hub route, make certain the power supply has at least 500ma capacity. More would be better... I regularly use a charger with 1000ma (1A) capacity to charge my TP2. The less current available, the longer it takes to charge.

As to the computer standby issue, some computers keep the USB ports active in standby, some don't. If active, it's not surprising the current capacity is reduced as the PC is just looking for an input in order to "wake-up" (ie: keyboard or mouse input signal). Try charging when the computer is "awake". Also, what is the battery capacity of the Fuze and Zune (mah)? If they are substantially less than the TP2 battery (approx 1000mah iirc), that could help explain the different charging periods.

The Zune battery seems to be around 950mAh, based on internet search (the battery is internal, not easily removable). The Fuze battery is about 1350mAh.

My TP2 batteries are 1500mAh.
