Hard Reset Verizon Touch Pro2

Ok, I've searched here, xda, htcwiki, etc. I really can't get my VZW TP2 to do a hard reset.

I've tried turning off phone via long hold 'End' key, then:
Holding 'Talk'+'End'+'Power' button in the top left.
Holding 'Vol+'+'Vol-' on power on

Both combos as above but hitting reset.

The closest I've gotten is into a Bootloader mode w/ Vol+ & Reset.

BUT I can't get this dang thing to hard reset. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wong? (And please, someone who's done this already?)

Thanks all.

Thanks, but as there are some differences between the Clear Storage and an actual Hard Reset I'm really interested in the exact way to Hard Reset the VZW TP2.

Re: Hard Reset Verizon Touch Pro2

The procedures for doing a hard reset on the verizon tp2 are different then other tp2's. It's on pg 146 of the user manual that came with the phone. I will copy and paste directly from the verizon user manual:

To perform a hard reset
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN, TALK/SEND, and END/POWER buttons until you see this message on the screen.
Wiping user data/settings & any user installed applications... 1. Press VolUP to restore manufacturer default.2. Press VolDown to restore custom configuration.3. Press other keys to cancel.
2. Release the VOLUME DOWN, TALK/SEND, and END/POWER buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to restore the operating system to the factory default configuration, press the VOLUME DOWN button to restore the factory default configuration and remove any operator customization, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
Using Clear Storage
If you can access the device settings, you can use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.
1. Tap
Start > Settings, and then tap All Settings.
2. On the
System tab, tap Memory > Clear Storage tab.
3. Enter "1234", tap OK and then tap Yes to confirm.

*WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARNING*

If you use clear storage, it WILL format your microsd card too.

Lesson learned the hard way when I had my touch pro1.

HUH? i'm sorry, but i've never heard of that. you're definitely mistaken. I've unlocked and flashed tons of touch pro's and performed hundreds of clear storage and it has never touched the microSD card.

Sure, I was just mistaken that when I did clear storage that my microsd card just so happened was wiped out at the same exact time. Coincidence I'm sure.... Even if you use the regular hard reset method, I would still always remove your microsd card just in case.

I agree with razorloves. Had my Verizon TP since it came out and NEVER was my card wiped with all the Hard resets performed!

btw my TP2 will be my hands in less than 48 hours!!!

Re: Hard Reset Verizon Touch Pro2

The problem I'm having with the 'Top Power Button+Green+Red' is that Red is also the power button, so when I'm trying to hold that and the device comes on.... well I don't know at this point. Again, if anyone has actually done this already please let me know exactly how you went about it?
