Re: Disable VZW TP2 Message Sent

Ok, since it has been awhile for WM for me...from 8notime's previous post the SMS/MMS Sent Notification sound like it is not being handled by the registry. Basically, I am asking (if I am right) can this notification pop up be controlled by a DLL file?

Might try looking at what's running in HKLM\Services then...

I had another thought on your statement. If changing that value defaults to the HTC pop ups, then those can be controlled by the Sounds/Notifications Settings...not having my TP2 yet is frustrating because I can't try it myself. But unless the TP2 revamped the Sounds/Notifications Settings then you may be able to change the dword value in the registry then go in and un-select the box to show pop ups...maybe???

Yeah, but to my knowledge there's never been an option to disable the message sent notification pop up through the notifications settings screen, regardless of how you set the reg keys that GoodThing2Life suggested changing. Regardless, I have set that key to 0 & 1, and neither of them is controlled through the systems settings screen. This is totally outrageous! It's like the first hack every WM user does when they get a new phone, right?

Yes, but on TP1 (and I know they are diff) but there was and option to turn the pop ups off in the Sound/Notifications Settings.

Re: Disable VZW TP2 Message Sent

If there is not anything under the Sounds & Notifications Settings, then THEY are disable (hidden) in the registry. I have come across one RGU that listed some entries as hidden, now I have to find it again to see if there was anything from those menus.

There is an MMS Sent but not an SMS sent and no the MMS Sent is not checked.

To my knowledge all that does is control whether or not a new message displays in a pop up in the left corner of the screen. If you disable this setting you have to go in to text messaging to read your message. If you enable it, then new messages will pop up in a bubble in the lower left corner. I don't think it has anything to do with the message sent notification.
