You can get the tmo touch pro 2 from wirefly for 199. Maybe sprint will do that too.

I'm thinking that no one is putting a gun to our heads and forcing us to buy them either. I chose to pay the $450 up front ($350 after I get my rebate). It was worth it to me, as I think this phone has that value, and to keep the excellent Sprint plan and service that I get for the price is just icing on the cake.
