Vote yes "I have 1 or more dead or stuck pixels" and vote no for "NO i dont have any dead or stuck pixels"


Theres already a thread discussing this and we not need another one to complain about it. Just vote yes or no to gather data on this issue. If its a 8 out of 10 Pros have dead pixels then we ALL should be concerned.

i love my dead pixels, im staring at em right now on a blank black camera screen just freaking and tweaking trying to stare at em so hard they disapear.lol

Consider your self lucky. Theres one guy that has one dead pixel dead center on the screen. Its like a crosshair. Just terrible. But I hope everyone votes because I have a real bad feeling this will be the Pro2 Achilles heal. Dont forget to vote!

If people truly have dead pixels, they will see black spots where colors should be. Based on the feedback I've seen thus far, nobody has reported any dead pixels.

No dead pixels here. Just an annoying issue where the count of new text/picture messages is way off, even after I've looked at said messages.

You are right. But once the thread has been titles and posted you cant change it. So lets just use common sense and consider "stuck and dead" as the same.

Its not a HTC product if there isn't some kind of major issue with the first batch, or all batches from the start, and that they will never do a recall. BUT if it was a Apple product there would be hell to pay for them releasing such a product.

just got mine today. first thing i checked and i'm relieved to say no stuck pixels for me... back when i first got a PSP, i had to return it like 4 times just to get one without stuck pixels.

tp2 is from sprint btw. build quality feels extremely good t

The poll results make no sense! All these ppl complaining about dead or stuck pixels and only 1 so far has said YES. Hmm.. we need to herd everyone to vote. Or it might be that its not a wide problem ..YET?

Man one dead Pixel so far. Somebody better alert HTC, this sounds like a total recall of all handsets.

Dead pixels have always been a thing with LCDs...it happens, the people most likely to have a problem would post and complain. Even though it may be a large amount, the amount that got good devices would surpass.

So even if 5 people post that they got bad pixels, expect 50 if not more to post that their device is fine.

It is not like HTC buys their LCDs on black market or anything lol

Since when can't thread titles be changed? Whenever I updated things in my HTC Home thread I always changed the title.

And to be on topic, I also have no dead/stuck pixels.

Yes. I agree. If it stay this way its not a big issue. But theres a few more memebers that have reported this problem but they have not voted.

You have to do an advanced edit to change titles, it won't let you if you just click edit and do it that way.

I know its NOT a dead pixel, but i am uncertain if it is actually a "stuck pixel" or if it is a software glitch. I can consistently reproduce the 'effect' by clicking on the Task Manager icon on the TF3D homescreen. Disabling the task manager app resolves the issue, and removes that ugly and clearly visible square at the upper left hand side of the taskbar. I think a hard reset is also in order.

Secretly, Exil3d is dying to get his hands on a TP2. I dont blame you, friend. It is a beautiful device. Being able to see more than a few lines of text at a time in emails, web browers, etc is well worth the upgrayedd!

I don't think that's a stuck pixel, looks more like some odd side effect of a customization you may have done.

These Touch Pro 2 defect threads are getting old. Especially since there doesn't seem to be many, and none MAJOR and not many have the device.

Was that screenshot token from an external camera or a an internal screenshot..cause unless you used an external camera, It won't show dead/stuck pixels...so it would be a software/interface thing.

Yeah, i figured as much. I disable the default task manager app and installed wktask to replace it...and all is well again.

My TP2 is officially hardware defect free...for now anyways. :)

So I am happy to report that I just received my third TP2 and the screen is finally perfect! No dead or stuck pixels on this baby! Now to return the other 2 before my account gets billed an additional $1,200 and have to fight with Sprint to remove it........

ok so i got my TP2 yesterday, love the form factor, feels solid, i like that. Anyways about this pixel thing, with my camera on i have a bunch (probably 6-10) tiny white dots towards the top of my screen, now i am not one to complain but gosh this phone is spendy, is this worth asking for a replacement?

Well after further review, it did have some in the middle of the screen......Well, I am not going for a fourth, will keep the first one which has been the lesser of all evils.....It is a shame life has come to this...haha

HAHAHAH! I love your comment. You hit it dead one. We went from Pro1 being a Frying pan with a Keyboard with Tourette syndrome and Leprosy Chrome along with constant fevers that lead to premature battery death.

So you think all LCD made screens should be 100% perfect?

They aren't. I could look at my past MP3 players, my TV, my Sidekick hell, my Harmony remote. All of these had issues of a dead or stuck pixel.

It's a COMMON THING to happen.

Seriously, we know you have a massive hate on for the TP2, but it seems like you're going searching for a single, tiny problem to pounce on.

Yes, mine has a stuck pixel, but so did my TV. I'm not planning on shipping either back. Thanks.
