Device is Verizon Touch Pro 2 (RHOD500) . Version of SG is 2.0.9. Just downloaded it today. File is dated 04-23-2009. Settings I am using, look at first attached screen shot below. Arcus Odyssey, look at second screen shot attached below. The SEGA screen shows up fine, but once the game starts, its a garbled mess. I had to turn audio off to get games to run. I tried all sample rates even.Still locks up on load. For the AA problem, I even turned TouchFLO3D on thinking that might of had something to do with it., no diff. Tried running in Fullscreen and fit best.. no change. And finally, tried in Portrait mode... nope. I honestly have no idea what the problem is. I don't have any other programs running. Last time I had Opera Mobile open, closed it out fully through task manager just to rule it out. No difference. Shrugs.

I believe I found the problem you're seeing. In the current build, when running Genesis games, you must have the Stereo and 16-bit options set otherwise it will not work. I'll correct this and upload a new build later today.

Re: Smartgear works great on Touch Pro 2! NES! Genesis!
Ahh, that fixed it. Arcus Odyssey still is messed up though. And there wasn't any sound for it either for some reason.
I tested out about 6 games on Gen. Here are some sound issues I noted. IMO, sound is 10 times better than what it originally was back in the old version, but I noted a few issues. D&D - Warriors of the Eternal Sun, works, but there is a loud ringing noise when the music plays. Figured it is an improperly PSG or YM sound bank. Y's III, music tracks are out of tune from each other (doesn't sound right) . Kid Chamelon, one of the tracks appear to be missing when the intro starts and the beat noise appears to be too loud over the rest. I heard this problem in a couple other games. Ghouls & Ghosts, one track is missing and some of the sfx don't sound out when they should. As nit picky as the above may sound, I'm just reporting on how everything runs. Hope thid helps |

Also, I have an Apple BT keyboard (though i am a Windows user). I'm getting curious now about other BT input devices like full blown keyboards. Any thoughts as to their application to this topic? And as a reminder to people - it might be a long shot but maybe, just maybe we could get a gameripper for the TP2 - hit the link a couple of pages back. |

BTW, I just did a search for Zeemote so i can find one to purchase and came across a thread at XDA where someone said it "works just fine" with his device (post dated 4/16). Just FYI ;)

I'm able to play games on the TP2 pretty well without a wireless controller. It's the HD2 and other devices with no keyboard which really need help. Unfortunately both the TP2 and HD2 use the Widcomm bluetooth stack and I currently don't support communicating with the zeemote on the Widcomm stack. For HD2 and TP2 users, the BGP100 is recognized as a virtual com port and SmartGear works well with it. The best deal I could find is $24.28 on Dealextreme: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13760 L.B. |

Re: Smartgear works great on Touch Pro 2! NES! Genesis!
I added a "Coin-op" system to SmartGear and so far it's running Capcom's Ghoul's 'n Ghosts. Here's a quick teaser video showing it running on an HD2. I need to optimize it a bit more, but it runs decently on "lesser" phones. This is all MY code and not borrowed from any other emulator. I've written tons of coin-op emulators and I'll add a few to SmartGear as time permits.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWbl-7W7BpA I'm still working on fixing the problems you've seen, but I always like to take a "fun" break by adding something new. I'm getting a Shadow 2 tomorrow, so maybe it will exhibit some of the problems you've seen. As far as graphics corruption in some of the Genesis games, try using different ROM dumps. I usually test with the (U) version (USA) and they seem to work best. L.B. |
