No that is NOT true at all. As I stated before in this thread, I have this issue all the time, and I NEVER lock my phone and have lock disabled. I do not think the issue has anything to do with Lock.

Also, since this thread is stickied now, it should be renamed. It makes it sound like there is a solution in this thread, which there isn't...

I have this issue, but I don't think I used to have it. I do however lock my phone (forced to with exchange) and I don't know if it coincided with me setting that up or not. I know this is a stretch, but the only other tweak I installed was the no sms notification for vzw so unless that's somehow causing it I have no idea.

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab

I also sent this issue into HTC and the customer service person (John). Response Below:

Hello Jeffrey, I have tried to replicate your issue with the light sensor when on a call with the T-Mobile Touch Pro 2. The T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 functioned properly with the light sensor making the screen go dark when on a call, and remaining on the call screen when light sensor activated the screen. While on a call, I was able to go to the Home Tab of TouchFlo 3D by pressing the Home key on the front of the phone without a password. However, when a password is applied to the phone, the light sensor will cause the phone to revert to the Home tab while on a call the first time the screen is disabled. If you remain on the Home tab and continue with the phone call, every time the screen is activated the Home tab will be displayed. Once on the Home tab and still on the call, I was able to return to the phone screen by pressing the Send Call button once. Once you return to the phone screen and continue the conversation, the phone screen will be displayed. No other number was dialed by pressing the Send Call button while connected to a call. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions. In order to help improve our service I’d like to invite you to take a survey at http://survey.htc.com/worldwide. Thank you for contacting HTC America Technical Support via e-mail. HTC Technical Support www.htc.com/us www.htcwiki.com

I explained to John that my issue was with the Sprint model. Still no change in his response.

I think we need a few more people to write to HTC via their website to make the "problem" more visible. Hitting the send button is an annoying work around to this design flaw.

Sounds like he's defending it as a design choice.

Oy. It's like they didn't actually test it with the screen lock enabled.

Here's one thing I've noticed with stock Verizon TP2 ROM:

While in call, it is generally fine and stays on the phone screen. However, if you try to adjust the volume, it then exhibits the home screen bug. Let's start officially calling it that. Maybe if we tell them that the many users here will start to return the phone to carriers instead they will sit up and take notice.

If they need people to start complaining, what is his email?

There's no way in hell I'm returning a TP2 for something that small. :P

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab

I don't know if this has been pointed out or not, but the problem can be lessened by changing the timeout for the lock. If you have lock set for anything UP until 1 hour, the phone will default to the home screen during a phone conversation after it blanks from the proximity sensor.

When set at 1 hour, it will NOT default to the home screen. (At least it won't with my Verizon stock ROM.) I have mine set that way for now but would like to set it for lock in 1 min as 1 hour is enough time for someone to do real damage to your email accounts if you lose the phone.

There's really no way you could defend that as a feature if you ask me. ](*,)

can someone cab for me the setting to turn off the automatic lock. I have a private exchange account, so i would not be going through any company rules.
