While we're all waiting...

My personal account has no upgrade option at the moment but my mom's does. So my plan is to use her upgrade to get the TP2 at 2-year contract price (annual upgrade) and then give her my current phone (env2). But when I add the TP2 to the cart to upgrade, it says she's on a plan not currently available anymore (America's Choice) and that she can't go back once she leaves it. It also forces me to get the $30 data plan. Obviously, I don't want to mess up her plan (which still might be getting Circuit City employee discount, lol), so is there a way I can just get the upgrade without changing plans? I'd be getting the TP2 within a few days at the most and wouldn't get my env2 to her for a week or so and I don't want her to have any interruptions in service. Maybe I'm better off going with telesales?

It won't even let me add it (or any other phone) to my cart. Says not compatible with my plan. Not sure what that's all about. I'll try again in a few.

As for your plan the only differences with america choice 2 and Nationwide is that she will now be charged for data if she has any apps on her phone that uses it and it wont charge to her minutes like it used to. i.e. Weather app on env2 via media center will start to show a data charge of maybe 2 dollars a month instead possibly just taking away 20 minutes or so.

As for the data plan. It will travel with the phone. the moment you put the env2 esn/meid number on her line the data plan for the touch pro2 will be dropped and you will have to choose pay as you go or the new data plan charges for regular handsets.

so there really shouldnt be any fear of upgrading as long as you dont change the minutes or other features on her line. (even if you do just call customer service promptly and they will fix it and you wont see it on your billing)

Just to confirm: Me upgrading tonight won't affect her current phone, so she can still use it until I get the env2 to her and activated on her account? And I can activate the TP2 on my account and use it before that?

its going to be a little weird so Ill explain abit about buddy upgrading (using someone else's upgrade to use on another line) Whats most likely going to happen since your not at a store is that your going to get the phone and you going to HAVE to place the esn/meid of the TP2 on her account,it will be locked to all other numbers until this is done. The current phone she has will work until naturally you place the tp2 on her line. once the esn/meid on the tp2 has been placed and activated it will be unlocked for all other VZW numbers so you can then place it on your account and put your env2 on to her account. normally the swap will work via online but if not then calling into technical support (or a seasoned Customer Care Rep) will be able to swap the esn's/meid's for you.

after that just run activation via *228 or *22890(whole sale activation) and your all done.

You can swap the ESN's yourself on the website too, I've done it several times.

quick question. I thought online only had 2 shipping methods. (SEDFED Overnight 3PM and Fedex 2 day before 7PM) both of which would be free. catch with that is for Sat shipping you would have to call in and pay 20$ for it or it would ship today and you would get it possibly monday. which method did you choose?
