sprint tp2 price
Anyone have a price on the touch pro 2 for sprint? I have a upgrade for my 2nd line so wanted to know how much out of pocket i'll have to pay with rebate and upgrade. also how much is the tp1 selling for because i'm going to sell it when tp2 comes out?
|
Re: sprint tp2 price
The price is going to be $450 out the door plus a $100 mail in rebate. I work for the company and this was confirmed on the call this week.

Re: sprint tp2 price
the full rate price in the playbook is $599 and after rebates and everthing is $349, i saw it in the playbook last night.

Re: sprint tp2 price
Wouldn't be surprise if it is $350 after MIR as for Sprint been nortorist for their inflated handset prices.

Re: sprint tp2 price
yea **** that. I have to replacemy tp1 for the 5th time and i'm not kicking out 350 for a phone I can get on t mobile for less. i can probably sell my tp1 when I get it replaced for 200 which i'll only kick out 150 but still **** that. if they want to match t mobile price then i'm good but if they don't I might switch to t mobile if they can match sprint service plan.

Re: sprint tp2 price
T-Mobile isn't offering this phone for any less than Sprint will be. The lower deals are had through 3rd parties, and I'm sure the same will be true for the Sprint version. Sprint's prices are in line with what everyone else has been charging at this point.
|
Re: sprint tp2 price
yeah sprint won't offer 3rd party price match, unless you complain enough with retentions. I notice retentions is not as laid back as before and if you threaten leaving they will just say bye.
The trick with retentions is even if they say that they can't help...wait till they ask you if you will rate them high on their survey....when they ask say no and most of them will change their tune....it's worked for me |
Re: sprint tp2 price
Sprint isn't as bad on prices as Verizon. I would take Sprint over Verizon for prices any day. Too bad Alltel doesn't exist anymore. :(
|
Re: sprint tp2 price
T-mobile's service sucks in my opinion so that's why they offer their phones for cheap because they have poor service. As much as I hate waiting for Sprint to come out with a new phone, I can't see myself going with any of the competitors either. So I'm pretty much ok with dealing with Sprints BS in exchange for not dealing with poor service (T-mobile) a handicapped phone (Verizon), or high plan pricing (At&t).

Re: sprint tp2 price
$350 OTD? NO WAY! No thanks Sprint.
After the issues with the TP1, I'll be dammed if I'm going to pay that much for a minor upgrade. Right now I'll just stay with the TP1 and possibly move back down to the Mogul, I like the form factor of it much better. I am willing to pay $199, not a dime more. |
Re: sprint tp2 price
I was gonna get the touch pro 2 and then move on to the hero but it looks like I might have to reconsider. I guess I will know when it comes out
|
Re: sprint tp2 price
just wait for BB to bring this out and see what price you can get. Hopefully they'll offer it for $199, and then you can get a sprint rebate for $100 and then bam, $99 phone.

Re: sprint tp2 price
So they make us wait forever........and now want us to shell out an "arm and a leg" for this device???
Is this to like force us to buy the Pre or something?? If this really is the final price then I might just wait till the 13th of Sept. and go Android with my Hero........but I really wanted that TP2 but not for that price......(what happen to "we're in a recession"?)(how about "cash for clunkers" for our old devices Obama?) |
Re: sprint tp2 price
hero is not scheduled till october 11th. I wish it was september though. I let go of my pre and I really want something right now to replace my diamond

Ahhh I see, guess I read it wrong then...

Re: sprint tp2 price
**** that. i'm not paying 350 for a phone granted I can just sell teh tp1 for 200 and only have to pay out 150 but still. noa **** that i'll wait a year like the did the tp1 to get teh phone for a quarter of the price.
|
Re: sprint tp2 price
I had made up my mind to go ahead and get this despite all my issues with both the Mogul and the TP1 if Sprint would give me the 2 year upgrade price...but not at $350. Guess I'll just go back to exchanging my TP1 over and over again and hoping they can manage to refurbish one properly for once.

Re: sprint tp2 price
this will be my first smartphone i ever owned, i am willing to pay the $349.99, i am basically getting the device for usage of the 3g internet.
something like 75% internet, 15% phone, 10% everything else |

The larger screen/keyboard plus the faster UI are great on the TP2, but I wouldn't pay the extra if it wasn't for the GSM capability. I'm hoping for a price drop anyway though. |
Re: sprint tp2 price
Why oh why must windows mobile phones be so expensive?
iPhone 3G (oops, I said it...) $99 w/2 year Palm Pre $199 w/2 year G1 $149 w/2 year MyTouch 3G $199 w/2 year Touch Pro 2 $350 w/2 year Am I missing something? I hope the diamond 2 is less than $299, otherwise, it's the Hero, or the instinct HD, but only if the web browser is Opera Mobile, like mentioned on the following: http://www.phonenews.com/instinct-hd...-samsung-8760/ |

Re: sprint tp2 price
Really? From what I've read the TP2 seems more solid except for a couple issues with the battery cover bulging on the edges.

Re: sprint tp2 price
Yeah, this is disappointing. $200 was my limit, but I had created rationalizations for making the purchase even if it was $300. $350 is a LOT to pay for this phone. Sure, it's better than a $99 IPhone. But is it really 3.5 times better?
What are the chances this phone will sell for less than $200 on Amazon, as the T-Mobile version did? Would people renewing their contracts be eligible (including people with legacy plans) if that did happen? |
Re: sprint tp2 price
no surprise here, if i remember correctly, i paid $299 for a mogul in 07. i'll be getting mines on the 8th.
|
Re: sprint tp2 price
$350 for the TP2?
I'm definitely getting the Hero now. The capacitive touch screen and Android OS is what's selling me. Windows Mobile is so boring and outdated. I'll probably come back when Windows Mobile 7 comes out. |

and good luck selling that for 200... once sprint drops their TP2, i wouldnt expect more than 150 for a used TP1... |

Re: sprint tp2 price
I already figured $300+ so not an issue... This phone isn't for everyone.

Re: sprint tp2 price
You have too look at all the variables and not just the phone price alone. Currently I’m on the Sero with insurance, my whole bill is under $40 bucks with all the features. I checked out Verizon and ATT prices for similar features and they are double to triple the price for what Sprint is charging for the same features. Look at the iPhone, yeah its 99 dollars for the phone, but the service alone is over 100 bucks for the cheapest voice and unlimited text and ATT forces you to get the $30 iphone data plan. Just the data plan that ATT charges is as much as my whole Sprint bill.
This is how these crooked companies make there money, they rip you off on the plans. To fight back, use the phone insurance to get new phones. Once the TP2 is available on insurance, I’m getting it. Play them companies like they play you. I used to have the iPhone 3g, yeah it was a nice phone, but I was getting raped with the phone bill and bad service. I complained and after a while, I got out of the contract without ETF and switched to Sprint Sero. Sprint doesn’t have a good signal as Verizon, but they were cool and gave me a free airave and other hookups for free and I can roam to Verizon if I get a bad signal. So far Sprint has been far and above the best phone company considering price and good customer support in my opinion and I will be sticking with them. |

$350 for a phone (WITH a 2-year contract) is ridiculous anyway you look at it. Especially considering the TP2 contains some of the most dated hardware of any phone. The reason for this is partly Windows Mobile's fault and partly HTC's fault. WM doesn't support 16.7 million color screens, capacitive touch screens, etc. I'm sure this will change with WM7... when it's released... probably 1+ year from now. HTC just keeps on sticking old hardware into their phones. If you're paying $350 for a phone with a 2-year contract, it better have some great hardware and features like an OLED screen. |
Re: sprint tp2 price
sero does still exist if you know someone inside, you just need to know how to get it. The so called codes sprint is saying are not active anymore are alive too. You just need to speak to the right rep. I recently went to a everything plan and I am not really missing sero because I only pay $10.00 more with my discount and I have navigation for free. Oh plus when the new phones come that don't allow Sero I can get them right away instead of hoping and waiting.
If the hero turns out to not be simply everything I will get my old sero back. |
