Yeah, this is disappointing. $200 was my limit, but I had created rationalizations for making the purchase even if it was $300. $350 is a LOT to pay for this phone. Sure, it's better than a $99 IPhone. But is it really 3.5 times better?

What are the chances this phone will sell for less than $200 on Amazon, as the T-Mobile version did? Would people renewing their contracts be eligible (including people with legacy plans) if that did happen?

$350 for the TP2?

I'm definitely getting the Hero now. The capacitive touch screen and Android OS is what's selling me. Windows Mobile is so boring and outdated. I'll probably come back when Windows Mobile 7 comes out.

MyTouch 3G $199 w/2 year
Touch Pro 2 $350 w/2 year

Am I missing something? I hope the diamond 2 is less than $299, otherwise, it's the Hero, or the instinct HD, but only if the web browser is Opera Mobile, like mentioned on the following:

http://www.phonenews.com/instinct-hd...-samsung-8760/

umm, why cant you just download opera if it doesnt come with it???

**** that. i'm not paying 350 for a phone granted I can just sell teh tp1 for 200 and only have to pay out 150 but still. noa **** that i'll wait a year like the did the tp1 to get teh phone for a quarter of the price.

if you waited a yr to get a TP, that means u basically just got it.... if you wait a yr to get a TP2, youll find yourself in the same situation......brand new phone, next big thing right around the corner...

and good luck selling that for 200... once sprint drops their TP2, i wouldnt expect more than 150 for a used TP1...

Is Opera Mobile a java application? The BREW OS (on the instinct) installs java apps. If Opera Mobile is not java based, it won't work.

I already figured $300+ so not an issue... This phone isn't for everyone.

You have too look at all the variables and not just the phone price alone. Currently I’m on the Sero with insurance, my whole bill is under $40 bucks with all the features. I checked out Verizon and ATT prices for similar features and they are double to triple the price for what Sprint is charging for the same features. Look at the iPhone, yeah its 99 dollars for the phone, but the service alone is over 100 bucks for the cheapest voice and unlimited text and ATT forces you to get the $30 iphone data plan. Just the data plan that ATT charges is as much as my whole Sprint bill.

This is how these crooked companies make there money, they rip you off on the plans. To fight back, use the phone insurance to get new phones. Once the TP2 is available on insurance, I’m getting it. Play them companies like they play you. I used to have the iPhone 3g, yeah it was a nice phone, but I was getting raped with the phone bill and bad service. I complained and after a while, I got out of the contract without ETF and switched to Sprint Sero. Sprint doesn’t have a good signal as Verizon, but they were cool and gave me a free airave and other hookups for free and I can roam to Verizon if I get a bad signal. So far Sprint has been far and above the best phone company considering price and good customer support in my opinion and I will be sticking with them.

Your SERO plan won't last much longer and YOU, along with others, are the reason why the insurance deductible went from $50 to $100 for smartphones.... (read: insurance fraud)

SERO doesn't exist anymore. A Sprint plan for smartphones now is over $60. Sprint DOES have the cheapest plans, but they aren't that cheap. I'm on SERO too, otherwise I would have switched by now to the Palm Pre. I don't feel like giving up my $30 plan.

$350 for a phone (WITH a 2-year contract) is ridiculous anyway you look at it. Especially considering the TP2 contains some of the most dated hardware of any phone. The reason for this is partly Windows Mobile's fault and partly HTC's fault. WM doesn't support 16.7 million color screens, capacitive touch screens, etc. I'm sure this will change with WM7... when it's released... probably 1+ year from now. HTC just keeps on sticking old hardware into their phones.

If you're paying $350 for a phone with a 2-year contract, it better have some great hardware and features like an OLED screen.

sero does still exist if you know someone inside, you just need to know how to get it. The so called codes sprint is saying are not active anymore are alive too. You just need to speak to the right rep. I recently went to a everything plan and I am not really missing sero because I only pay $10.00 more with my discount and I have navigation for free. Oh plus when the new phones come that don't allow Sero I can get them right away instead of hoping and waiting.

If the hero turns out to not be simply everything I will get my old sero back.
