I finally got fed up with missing my notifications...and despite me not wanting to do this in the beginning, I did anyways.

After a bit of hunting, I found all the original BB ringtones (sounds professional..) and I grabbed a file and amped up the decibals on it so it'd be louder. Now no matter how it starts off low and ends up high, it's still pretty loud regardless. I've attached the mp3 I'm using for text messages to this post:

I sent a message to htc about this and the suggestion was that a third party app was the cause.
Has anyone tried a hard reset to see if the phone does it with stock settings?

I am having a bit of trouble hearing my email notification as it only beeps once. It is abnormally quiet despite my volume settings.

Can anyone confirm this? Try playing with the ring tone alerts, the first one may be really quiet and the subsequent tone will play as it should.

I've always noticed when dialing a #. The first digit you dial is very low, then it gets loud... Always chalked it up to just one of those things, but I would like it fixed if at all possible.

I hear this as well, but thought is was a 'soft' start volume.

Kinda like it so I don't get startled with a sudden loud signal.

Huh...so I am not alone!
Is this present in all the phones? It seems like it...

It drives me nuts. My old touch pro is nice and loud but the screen is broken. my TP2 has a working screen but I barely hear the first ring/notice.
I have to make sure that whatever ring is set for texts and emails is long enough that the speaker has a chance to turn on.

Re: Speaker volume (quiet then loud)

this is not a problem this is a safety feature. the diamonds and pro1s had problems with the speakers blowing because of the high power being applied all at once. so htc actually listens to a problem and fixed it. would you rather have speakers blowing in your $649.99 device or have a safety feature that prevents it.
