The funny thing is people keep saying it will get ported but there is yet to be a manila version ported to a different device that works properly. They always have problems. Rather it's the resolution difference with images cutting off the sides or just buggy and constantly restarting. I will rather have my touch pro 2 with the official version of the updated manila. HTC is moving to WVGA so all these VGA devices will take alot of work to port anything made for WVGA. and as i stated yet it is yet to be successful without major bugs

Re: Anyone going to pass on the tp2?

I'm starting to lean towards waiting. My wife and I both have a Titan (XV6800) and my new every two is up in November. As long as VZW still has the original TP in stock, I should be able to upgrade both of us to that phone for $100 total. If VZW is reasonable with their pricing I may still go TP2 and get my wife a TP. But I don't really expect VZW to be reasonable. :P

I feel that same way. i upgraded from the PPC-6700 to the TP and think it was a good move. Day and night difference- still buggy and I still had to return the hardware a couple of times. I think the upgrade will have to be somthing big- i.e. internal storage 8 gb+ with microSDHC...5 megapixal cam with HD (720p) recording....3.5mm headphone jack( I think HTC got the hints!).... stable release of wm6.5( or even Android).... I would do the 1yr resign if this tyoe of phone popped out-

im like you- holding out for Tegra/snap....

TP should keep me satisfied for now.

i'm intrigued by the screen but i'm more concerned about the heat factor. if the tp1 gets really hot with a 2.8" screen and the tp2 basically has the same specs but bigger screen, i wonder.....

It's not the screen that make it hot. It's the radios

Re: Anyone going to pass on the tp2?

I wonder if and when asurion or sprint start replacing "lost or stolen" TP with TP2 for those who buy TEP for $7/month?

If and when it happens, it may be worth $100 to upgrade.

What do you think?

Re: Anyone going to pass on the tp2?

I upgraded from an HTC Titan aka Mogul to the TP2.. The upgrade was amazing..

If I had a TP or Diamond I probally won't have upgraded...

Does the phone get hot? I have never used a TP but I can honestly say the phone doesn't get hot at all...

Is the upgrade worth it? HELL YES!!!
