this simple registry hack will stop opera from booting when you start the phone, you will have 46-47% usage on a boot rather than 53-55% so you will save about 5-10% memory usage.

stop opera from starting up upon boot:

HKLM\Software\HTC\PushInternetEngine
Change Enable from 1 to 0

HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\InternetPush
change EnablePushInternet from 1 to 0

k...Here is how you create your own shortcut folders in Manila...

Create a folder under windows/start menu/programs. Name it whatever you want.
move program links from the programs folder into that folder using activesync

Now go under HLKM\SOFTWARE\HTC\MANILA\PROGRAMLAUNCHER\

chose a program position (they are labeled by number) & open it. Modify the following values (I will use "Utilities" as my example):
DispName: Utilities
IconPath: this is up to you, I leave it blank, but you can link to an icon in the folder you create)
IsReadOnly:0
Path:\Windows\Start Menu\Utilities



Now you may be saying what? The paths do not match between where you placed the folder & the path in the registry... You are right; apparently it assumes the path is: \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Utilities.
So you just need to put in \Windows\Start Menu\Utilities

I hope this helps anyone looking to create folder links easily under manila

I think this should have a FAQ section. for instance, to use a flip clock...since some of the sliders include a clock.
If you use a slider, it should be installed first, then the activate flip clock cab, followed by the actual flip clock. This would help others i believe. just my 2cents

I recently installed a nice theme for my phone. But start menu is now back to the original version as my old diamond. I no longer get the separate screen with all my programs just the drop down start menu. Anyone know how to get it back I like it now and dont want the old start menu drop down.

This doesn't work for me. I made the reg edit & soft reset, but it made no difference whatever.

MightyMike can you edit Spike's mcneo taskbar htc squared for sprint touch pro 2? I installed it last night and it totally distorted my taskbar. I had to do a hard reset to get everything back to normal.
