As for the HSDPA/UTMS... umm, to my understanding our TP2s does not have the correct US 3G bands? I could be wrong though but, hey, depends on where you go though, because at least in where I am (Los Angeles), EvDO is actually faster than the GSM 3G. |

Re: TELUS TP2 worldwide using GSM SIM card
From my understanding (Telus TP2 user, w/ unlock) the US phones don't need the code, they are "unlocked" but the simply don't work for US GSM networks. Seems like something was done at the firmware level to prevent using AT&T/T-Mobile on the US version of these phones.

Re: TELUS TP2 worldwide using GSM SIM card
Yah i just go my phone line two hr ago and the sim manager said unlocked.
I'm starting to hate it. I got so use to the hardware button this touch kind of sucks for me. but i spent the money for the phone so i better start to like it lol. I really dont like that touch flow i took it off right away. i really like my WM interface. |

Re: TELUS TP2 worldwide using GSM SIM card
Well, its official. The VZW TP2 requires a SIM unlock code. I'll be calling Global Services in the next couple days to get one from them and let you know how I make out.

Type in the Unlock code while the rep was on the phone, and BOOM "Your phone is SIM unlocked." Said thank you and hung up. Went ahead and put in my trust European SIM that I use to travel all over Europe, recognized it immediately, let me enter my PIN, and can see ALL my contacts. DID I MENTION I LOVE THIS PHONE!! And the kicker isss.... ITS ROAMING normally on the AT&T network right now with no problem. I can't wait until October when I head over, its going to be a dream to communicate. Here's a video, sorry that I didn't show the unlock process. While this doesn't mean that an AT&T sim card will work, it does mean US frequencies are present. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2Mn6aczVNg |
