I bet MightMike is working on a nice lil ROM for the Touch Pro 2 which will certainly remove the GSM/SIM restriction. A new ROM would fix up this puppy nicely without having to do anything special...

They have a few videos on youtube of them using a rogers and fido sim after unlocking the phone. I can't imagine it being very hard to reverse the lock but my ARM assembly is a little (lot) rusty
