the sprint tp2 comes with a sim card slot that is fixed to only take overseas sim cards... i have one so i will be using that brand new sim card in my tp2 to test it and see if it works it should seeing i have open the sim card yet

Thanks! Do overseas sim cards work with different carriers or are they universal? Sorry in advance if this question is in the wrong thread...

they could work in other carriers but if the phone ur using dont support the overseas bands it would be lil to no use. plus the phone has to be unlocked to use too. lets say i have an at&t fuze and use my overseas sim card wouldnt really work the phone is locked into at&t network but if i had an euro tp over here with an overseas sim card than it would work...get what im saying

Yeah, so with the TP2, I will only be able to use international GSM networks (not US). Does this mean I won't have to "unlock" the phone...just purchase a European sim card, etc.?

it comes out the box being able to use an overseas sim card...but it wont support US sim cards i think its fix not to do so...so unless the xda wizards find a work around it than it will be international network only

Yes just throw any sim card in for a overseas carrier that supports UMTS/HSPA (2100 MHz), GSM/ EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) it should be just like the BB Tour.
