Well I'm a manager at Sprint here in Jax, Fl and people ask me everyday when we are getting the touch pro 2. So far from what I've been able to find out...(and it's not wehat you want to hear) is the touch pro 2 is NOT in the 2009 road map. Which means we are most likely looking at Feb or even March possibly of 2010. Tmobile will be the 1st to have it, they should have there's pretty soon. Just sharing what I've found so far, things may change at any given point.

for all those that think the Touch Pro 2 will not be out in 2009 i have to say that you are wrong. The sprint roadmap that was released is not accurate!
The touch pro 2 WILL be avail starting on Sept 3rd.
I have a very reliable source that says this date is still correct.

That sounds kinda hard to believe because by then Tegra and Snapdragon chips will become more used and even a few Wimax phones should be out...for them to release 1 year old phone that would be outdated 6month after the competitors sounds like a waist of sprints time and money...by then no one would want it.

Well verizon at least has #1 amount of customers...cant say same for sprint >.>..and on verizon now you can use any CDMA device unlike sprint...

thats true, but its not easy getting a device from another network activated, most of them will play stupid, plus its cheaper for me to use my new every two upgrade than buy another carriers phone for full price or on ebay.
Sprint gets phone much faster than verizon and carries all the phone verizon does (except for the storm but it sucks!).

But its still an option..so if htc/samsung released a phone you can get an unlocked right away..assuming its cdma and evdo revA compatible...or you can get a Telus TP2 and use it on the network....sometimes its not a like a new phone but "NEED" a new one...like personally I use Wifi and Text messaging alot and if I had to pay full price I would..but can't on Sprints network since they don't allow it

Verizon at the moment is #1 as I said so they aren't afraid of loosing customers yet..sprint on the other hand hasn't been doing very well and loosing customers..so why give them more reason to jump ship? They could have even done a silent un-official release to business customers..or something...grrr...damn pre...

anyone know where I can find a video of a Pre being smashed and burned and then slammed with a baseball bat(preferably while sprint is watching)...or something similar..it would make me feel a lot better
