@woldemariam the arrives hardware and OS now 100% supports tethering but it's up to sprint to enable it and I've already discussed the likelihood of that and reasons why a couple of posts up. You are much better off looking for an HD7 or Radar 4G off eBay and then activating it on the T-mobile prepay plans. Its worth it and a MUCH faster connection as u can see in my sig.

Re: Good-Bye Touch Pro 2 and HTC

A little update. I've had the S2 for five days and it is great! Rooted it the first day and installed tethering. Can transfer files over a USB cable or wirelessly directly from PC to phone. And boy is the phone fast and smooth. Speaktoit Assistant is not as good as Siri, but it beats Tellme. And the GPS programs are awesome! Finally, we have a little pocket here supporting 4g - it will be great when it spreads. So far Android is just as customizable and powerful as WM6.5 - only faster. I have not had to soft re-set this phone once!

Just rooted a friend's yesterday. You shouldn't have had to install tethering. Most roms have hotspot unlocked. Or if staying stock, there is a hotspot hack. I know his tethers 4g. I should have my Arrive on Monday. Android is nice if you're a kid and want to play, but I need a phone that just works. Had 2 android phones and was not impressed with the OS. Just my opinion. The wife and kid love it though...

@gjhuff well it is a newer phone. I would be pissed if I spent 2 Benjamin's on a phone that didn't just work.

@aqualls yea u will love the arrive provided that the sprint towers are in good condition in ur area. In mine they weren't and is why I'm with T-mobile.

Towers are good in my area. Just no 4g. Speeds on my TP2 are usually pretty good.

Yeah Sprint 4g is non existent almost nowhere. Even when I do have it sucks. I'm looking forward to Sprint LTE. But I guess for now 3g will do. I really like the arrive. I would use it if it could be rooted like Android. I may get the arrive for my wife unless another windows phone comes to Sprint. All I know is that windows phone os is looking good after the mango update.

Re: Good-Bye Touch Pro 2 and HTC

Yes Eric - if it hadn't been faster than the TP2, I would have been upset. And, I'm starting to have the same problems with data that you have mentioned. I think the onslaught of Iphone 4s phones in NOLA is slowing 3g data speeds. 4G is here, but spotty. For me, the Android phone does work (as I said, no re-sets yet) and I can tinker. I heard that there were roms available for the Galaxy S2 that would permit tethering, but I had already rooted the phone and sideloaded a tethering app (as Sprint has blocked them on the Android store).

Has the Arrive or any other Seven Phone been jailbroken yet? Although as you know, I've been down on it, I am very surprised not only at the low market numbers, but the fact that demo units have disappeared from some Sprint stores. Mayber Nokia will change that, but right now, IOS and Android rule the Sprint market.
