Re: Convert TP2 to Media Player?
why yes there is. the tp2 or any wm device released since 2005 for that matter can do this right out the box, if u have a device that is capable of BT stereo just pair it with the tp2 and play whatever it is u wish to hear and if u want u can even put it in airplane mode for uninterrupted music, as for video im not sure about that but I think a program like orb can help with that.

Re: Convert TP2 to Media Player?
I had my TP2 hooked up to a set of speakers and used it as a dedicated Slacker Radio player for the past few months.
MP3's were played via any one of my favorite media players. All I did is a hard reset, enabled wifi and turned off everything else. I even played music/videos from YouTube this way. p. |

Wirelessly posted (VZW TP2: Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))
op: are you asking if you can disable radio on the device and use only to play on device content? so no chance to have cell data working/phone voice working but still allow wifi? esentially making it an 'ipod touch' type?

dont know of one out there like this currently. might want to post in the cdma rom section and see if any chefs have a option for you. The airplane mode will work but that still leaves a lot of extra items in the rom you would never use and that takes up precious space. Would try a titanium rom from any of the chefs first and work from there. then maybe install s2p (slide to play by ac). one o9f the best audio plays I've use recently. |

Re: Convert TP2 to Media Player?
Personally if I wanted to use my TP2 only as a PMP I would get a titanium only rom (NRGZ28 cook a titanium only rom, it's a little bloated but still very fast. It comes with youtube, google maps and opera browser apps), install a very basic UI to launch various apps like IphoneToday.
I would then install the following applications -Nitrogen (music player, very touch friendly, does not consume alot of ressources) -CorePlayer (paid software, plays all non HD XviD natively smoothly) The following are useful as long as you have a connection to internet: -Kinoma FreePlay (stream mutimedia content from your computer over the internet or LAN, providing you have Orb installed on your computer) -Scilor's Groovemobile (listen to grooveshark music) -Slacker Radio (internet radio streaming) -mVu mobile viewer (download and stream videos from DailyMotion, YouTube, CollegeHumor... and various pr0n sites). If you wish to push things a little further you could also get moTweets for twitter, DroppedBoxx for DropBox access and fim for facebook chat. You can even try to overclock your device with WinMoSpeed to reduce stutter and improve multitasking. There is alot you can still do with a TP2, just look around a little bit on these forums and on XDA-Developers and you'll find amazing programs to enhance your device has a personnal media player! |
