Re: Sync Issue: TP2 WM6.5 - Activesync 4.5 - MSO-2010
don't know if u are willing to do this but u can try synching through a cloud solution. one of such methods is setting up ur hotmail account to sync with exchange (bing for instructions ) to sync email, calendar and contacts or u can search for Microsoft myphone and use that to sync contacts, calendar, videos, pictures ,documents and other files. since I started using 1 of these 2 methods I no longer had to rely on a PC to sync and restore my data from a hard reset. and contrary to the beliefs of some ur data is just as safe on the cloud as it is on the PC.

eric,
Thank you for the suggestion. I am currently only interested in solving the problem I have. Not interested in broadcasting all my data via Cloud Computing (hoping & wishing servers would have scruples to keep what's mine, protected ...) ~ remember that site WikiLeaks (oh what fun they had collecting peoples data that came across their servers in the early days ...). I consider my contact data "secret", and only way to keep a secret is not to tell anybody ... thanks again for your considerate reply |

Re: Sync Issue: TP2 WM6.5 - Activesync 4.5 - MSO-2010
Thanks for the reply's ...
To reconfirm, AS ( ActiveSync) does not sync and running the AS Trouble Shooter tells me there is no copy of Office/Outlook on my computer (but there is). Computer running WinXP/Tablet-SP3 WMDC is for Win7 OS AS-4.5 is for WinXP OS (which is what I am running) AS-4.5 works fine on another XP/Pro-SP3 Computer running MSO-2010 I have deleted partnership on device and computer multiple times, and have removed and re-installed AS-4.5 multiple times, and have done both repair from disk and also remove/reinstall MSO-2010. Additionally, I have tried multiple copies of AS-4.5 to eliminate potential problem related to corrupted version of AS-4.5. Device (TP2) will connect to my computer, and I can see and manipulate the files on TP2 from connected computer. My device (that will not sync with my computer Outlook files) will sync with secondary computer running MSO-2010 and AS-4.5. Last edited by Spey; 05-06-2011 at 07:38 PM. |

Re: Sync Issue: TP2 WM6.5 - Activesync 4.5 - MSO-2010
Just a quick note. I've been using Win XP with MSO 2010 and Activesync for months with no problems. No incompatibility between MSO 2010 and AS. Both Outlook 2010 and my TP2 sync with an exchange server account. No problem.

Re: Sync Issue: TP2 WM6.5 - Activesync 4.5 - MSO-2010
horndoctor,
I really appreciate the attention to your post with regard to reading what I have already posted related to my issue(s) THANK YOU. Very much appears to me to be an issue related to the MSO-2010 installations association file(s) that ActiveSync needs to see. Previous remove/reinstalls of MSO-2010 did not solve my issue (but I really had felt that I was not getting everything during the MSO removal). I am somewhat familiar with CCleaner and using the registry cleaner (currently running v3.06.1433). Could you please delineate the removal process steps you would suggest I use this next time; i.e. Add/Remove from Windows, MSO Removal Utility or CCleaner Removal Utility, etc. then the specific step(s) to finish the cleanup i.e. CCleaner Registry Cleaner and/or … I would assume the same set of steps related to AS-4.5 removal and reinstall would also apply. Here’s the first few lines of typical AS-Log.txt illustrating the issue I have mentioned related to ActiveSync not recognizing MSO-2010: ActiveSync Troubleshooting Utility version: 4.5.5096.0 Date/Time: 2011/02/28-16:28:42.010 Analysis started Operating system has been qualified as Windows XP (Home or Professional) SP1 or greater Current operating system is supported Current version of IE is supported ActiveSync version found is 4.5.5096 Outlook 0 found To synchronize e-mail, calendar appointments, and contacts with your PC, Microsoft Outlook XP (or later) must be installed Exchange server not found in Outlook profile Connection to Exchange server okay PC is not qualified SerialUSB driver has been detected. If the ASLog.txt fileinfo above provides alternate potential solution to laborious removal/reinstallation of MSO, ActiveSync, etc., I would appreciate your thoughts. I will try to attach a full ASLog.txt file to this message (sorry forum limited to 19k upload & file is 28k). Thank you all for you considerate attention, |

well if nothing else has worked thus far then its worth considering no crees? with all paranoia aside ur data is just as safe on the cloud as it is on ur PC if someone wants to access it they will. this seems to be the last option u have to try and if u are unwilling to pués ni modos.
