Re: Verizon Wireless Touch pro 2 on T-mobile
I just want to make sure my phone will work with overseas providers when I travel. I don't have any other SIM card but t-mobile.

Re: Verizon Wireless Touch pro 2 on T-mobile
where did you get your unlock code from? verizon will give it to you for free, just ask them for it, tell them you're going overseas on business, and then enter that...it should work.

Re: Verizon Wireless Touch pro 2 on T-mobile
I would've got it from Verizon but they require phone activated on their network for 60 days to get a free unlock code. I never had verizon account. I bought the code on ebay. Are you saying the phone will prompt for unlock code once I installed non US GSM SIM? I tried to install http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/1493604-post1.html this radio but corrupts the image. I had to reisntall the rom twice.

Re: Verizon Wireless Touch pro 2 on T-mobile
if you paid for that, it should work. don't panic just yet, if that's what you bought, let me contact cmonex and she will guide you through.
EDIT: just re-read your post, if you didn't buy the unlocker, that's why it won't work |

Re: Verizon Wireless Touch pro 2 on T-mobile
Is unlocker required for US GSM network only? I know the Sprint is open for non US GSM networks but my VZW TP2 isn't, as far as I know.

Re: Verizon Wireless Touch pro 2 on T-mobile
if you plan to use the gsm in the u.s. and never used verizon, you're going to have to buy the sim unlocker from cmonex and olipro...but only in the u.s....it is unlocked for world travel .

Re: Verizon Wireless Touch pro 2 on T-mobile
everyone thanks for replies. I figured it out. Here are the steps copied from another site.
1. On TouchFLO 3D, go to the Settings tab and then hit the left soft button for All Settings. 2. Under the Settings menu, go to the Personal tab. 3. Click on the Security icon. 4. Enter the unlock code. Then I had to pick T-mobile from the list of providers and everything worked like a charm. Including data - edge obviously. So Unlocker isn't needed. Just an unlock code either from your provider or from ebay. I paid less than $8. |
