sending contact info via txt

Is there a way of sending a number from my phone book as a text only.

I've read it has to be via vcard but when I send the txt with a vcard people tell me that they didn't receive anything.

is there a better way of sending contact info via text?

is there a cab for this?

who are you sending the vcard to? folks with 'dumb phones' will not get the vcard.

More info on what the other end is running for a phone OS is needed to help answer your question.

well my sister has a touch pro2 and view the vcard but I had friends who have old phone that can view the vcard

did you mean to say that your sister has tp2 and can't view the vcard but others that have older phones can view the vcard?

The reply above says both sister with tp2 can view vcard but friends who have old phone can view vcard......so saying both can view the vcard??????

sorry I meant to say that my sister with a TP2 cant view the vcard and other people with older phones cant view the vcard also.

I am using a custom rom by Energy (NRGz) with the WM6.5.x version.

I have the option to send the contact info via text message (can even select all the contact info and it knows that it needs to send more than 1 txt message to get all the info to the person)

Now not sure how the person on the other end is going to import this into there contacts but this does get all the info to them.

If I choose MMS for the option to send the contact, it sets up the message with a vCard attached.

Will send this to see what it comes across like.

EDIT: as a test, I sent a vcard to myself....was able to import it just fine into a new contact.
