Need help with cdma settings for vzw & telus!

Hello All,

I recently purchased a Verizon branded Touch Pro 2 (CDMA) off ebay that has never been activated on Verizon (nor any other carrier for that matter). It is virtually new. I have unlocked (Hard-SPL) it and am using Fido (GSM mode) in Canada. (updated OS, radio, etc.). It is updated with Telus' PRI and PRL too.

I have run BAF MSL.exe (using Verizon default MSL code of 000000) and am able to 'Launch EPST' in Edit mode and reconfigure all CDMA settings.

Now, here is my dilemma and seeking info and guidance on.
I live in Canada where Telus is/was the provider of service who offered this phone just over 1 year ago. Both Telus and Verizon apparently used the RHOD500 version of this model (vs. Sprint RHOD400 and AT&T RHOD300).

Being as it is Verizon, and never been activated on Verizon network, I have the MSL code (000000) and can go into all the CDMA settings (using BAF MSL and Launching EPST). All the setting in there were for Verizon. I have found the majority of settings for Telus in a thread on the HTC Mogul forum at xda-developers, but not everything I needed was covered.

Does anyone out there (or can anyone please) try this using the BAF MSL on Verizon and Telus branded phones and get me all the info needed. (even though you do not have the MSL you can still launch EPST to view all settings). Please note: do not include any info regarding your 10 digit phone number, as I do not need this (and protecting your privacy). I would like to set all to Telus and try convincing Telus to add the MEID/ESN to their inventory so i can use it on Telus. If I cannot convince them, then I would need to revert back to Verizon settings. (stupid me started changing info without taking note of initial settings, so if I decide to but this back onto ebay as Verizon phone, the potential buyer can actually activate on Verizon CDMA network) (I need to have in it CDMA mode in order to use on 3G networfk for Telus - 2100MHz through CDMA rasio side - GSM side cannot run 3G on Telus)

Here are the various pages of info I am looking for (again for both Telus and Verizon). It is a long list but would appreciate the time spent. Maybe you can zip it all into a text file to post.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I understand this is a lot of info to filter through and thank anyone profusely for their efforts.

Also, if anyone knows if and how to get Verizon branded TP2 to work on Telus 3G, if possible by way of SIM card, or how to convince Telus to add MEID/ESN to their network inventory, this would all be greatly appreciated too.

And on a final note: if someone out there has a Telus branded TP2 and would be willing to trade for a virtually new Verizon branded TP2 plus a fairly used T-Mo TP2, I would consider trading instead of doing all this work.

Thanks,
TD

If I were you I would first see if you can get your device's esn added to the telus network. If you can't then all of the other settings are useless. You could try doing it yourself online at mytelusmobility.com first and/or call them and see if you can convince them.
If you can get it added, then just flash the telus shipped rom and then dial *22803 and do over the air programming.

Re: Need help with cdma settings for vzw & telus!

Thanks for the thought ... I understand it is going to be an uphill battle with Telus. Certainly flashing to Telus ROM after the fact and using OTA update to repopulate the proper data into each field is the easiest with if I were to be successful with Telus.

On the other side of the coin, wouldn't getting the phone reverted back to Verizon settings be needed to sell as a "Verizon capable" phone? Or could "that person" do an OTA with Verizon and "fix" the settings. I would need to flach back to a stock Verizon ROM. I've tried, but it doesn't boot after. Stays stuck in first splash screen. Does it have something to do with the phone being Hard-SPL'ed? And/or also the radio updated to 2.32WU (unlocked). Do I have to "undo" the Hard-SPL to re-flash stock Verizon? and how do you revert back?

I happened to do a little more searching and found the VZW settings. Someone else about a year ago posted screen shots of all 10 or 11 pages from EPST on phone with all the settings.

Still would be nice to get all the settings for Telus.... anyone (here's an example of what I would like to get http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-touch-...ml#post1536028

To answer your question about the hspl, when you flash a shipped rom the hspl stays. If you want to relock for some reason then there is a relocker available.

To run the Verizon shipped rom and remain unlocked you will have to flash an edited version of the shipped rom. I believe there is a Verizon rom posted in the upgrades forum edited by Mr.X.

Re: Need help with cdma settings for vzw & telus!

sounds like it would be less trouble to put that back on ebay then find either a TELUS branded TP2 or even a wp7 device as TELUS is both CDMA and GSM. .
