Re: Please help with tethering with android tablet
for ANdroid to see Ad-Hoc, you need to change the wpa_supplicant file in System/bin using Root EXPLORER or Android Mate....
ive done this mod to my TP running Android, but i dont know if the same one works for Tablets... ill attach it, heres what to do.. . goto System/bin and backup your orginal wpa_supplicant file somewhere . copy/paste the New wpa_supplicant file into System/bin . reset Android . turn on Wifi Router, WmWifiRouter, or the like . Turn on wifi on Android and scan for networks . Ad-hoc should now be visible . enjoy **note** wpa_supplicant is just a file.. no extension

Re: Please help with tethering with android tablet
wil this solves both tethering with wifi and bluetooth? I think i read somewhere about tp2 having a widcomm bluetooth stack instead of what is in tp1. is this changeable?
edit: didn't work for me, the archos 101 was not able to see the the ad hoc network Last edited by superflysocal; 01-15-2011 at 06:53 PM. |

Re: Please help with tethering with android tablet
search: wpa supplicant ppcgeeks epic and youll get the thread... theres a link to XDA on there... theres 2 different wpa_supplicants to chose from i think

Re: Please help with tethering with android tablet
I was able to get bluetooth tethering to work between a Sprint TP2 (stock) and an Archos 5 Android. Not sure if it's different on the Archos 101, but I used http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-touch-...ouch-pro2.html on the TP2, then set up the tether from the Android setting screen, and it works fine.

Re: Please help with tethering with android tablet
Hi. Not sure if this will help but I have been tethering my coby 7024 successfully using both the FRX06 and the Gingerbread from the Android section of the TP2 forum. In the settings, wifi, there is option for tether. It is infrastructure mode so can be recognized by the Android tablet. Good luck.
