Re: Current TP2 owners
at some point... and im saying at some point.. you guys with low plans just have to: eat it! get off the pot! or stop complaning(not that theres really complaining going on here)..
If you have a severely discounted plan, why or how even, can you be mad at Sprint for saying some phone wont be available to it.. or, that you have to pay an increased price on your plan... the general complaint is: "I dont want to move on, if I have to pay more".. ok, good.. solid decision... but its still Their decision.. if you wanna cling to cheap plans, you made your choice then.. you wanna pay a little more, then the door is wide open for you on devices... -------- I understand OP, thats not neccessarily what you were going for.. but your Thread has limited options for response.. ill show you we can either: 1. not pay and not upgrade into Android or WP7(is WP7 for sure doing $10 fee too?)- thus running our TP2s into the ground because lets face, what device would we actually want thats NOT Android or WP7 - we already have 1 of the top(3) non Android or other phones.. 2. pay and upgrade away and never worry about- using various discounts to lessen the sting. thats about it.. wouldnt you say.... eventually, at some point.. everyone will upgrade away for one reason or another.. even if a few years from now(yes some people keep devices for years without upgrading)... and all this doesnt go without me saying that i recently had to change my plan to get an ANdroid device for my girl.. I had discounts that ive literally been getting 5 years.. had free line.. free data.. all kinds of stuff.. All gone now, aside from the 27% corp discount... sometime you just gotta do what you gotta do... and I for one, even if i get more device(currently sitting on 2 full upgrades) will use my TP2 until it literally wont work and i cant find replacement... its been my Best phone to date..

Re: Current TP2 owners
i still use the tp2 but definitely looking to upgrade. the only thing holding me back is the justification for spending an additional $320+ this year (phone + $10/mo), then another $120 next year granted I don't upgrade again next year.

Wirelessly posted (HTC Touch Pro2 (Sprint): Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))
Up until about a week ago, I was definitely ready to upgrade from the TP2. Now that Vin figured out how to make this phone great again, I'm gonna hold on for as long as I can. When I do make the switch, it'll most likely be to Android. WP7 doesn't have the "look" that i like. |

Re: Current TP2 owners
I am still on SERO with a 25% corporate discount, giving me an all in cost of less than $25 per month. Upgrading to a premium plan would mean the immediate loss of the discount, so my cost would more than double. In addition, my TP2 is unlocked and we often travel overseas with it. If I upgrade, I would lose the ability to just get a local SIM card.
In summary, in my case, the TP2 has been and still is the best solution for me. If it dies, I will get another one. Of course, this assumes that Sprint won't take away my current discount. If they do, I would have to rethink the upgrade or moving to another carrier. |
