Newbie...can I make a Verizon TP2 work on Sprint account?

I lost my TP on a business trip but a co-worker gave me his old TP2. The issue is I'm a Sprint customer and the TP2 he gave me is a Verizon version.

I've already unlocked it and loaded a Sprint ROM onto it but it still shows Verizon Wireless on the splash screen and when I dial anything it connects to Verizon by default.

Is there anything more I need to do in order to have it default to connecting to the Sprint network so when I program it with my Sprint phone number and add it to my account it will work properly?

I'm sure there is somewhere on this site that addresses this but I've been searching and I can't find it. Any assistance would be very much appriciated.

By the way, it has a SIM card in it from Verizon but I don't need GSM. I just need CDMA on the Sprint network.

Oh and answer to your question is, no there is no "legal" way to do it...

best I can offer is see if anyone is interested in a trade...or sell it and buy a sprint one...

If anyone has a TP2 for the Sprint network and would like to trade for a TP2 on the Verizon network please let me know! I have 4 lines on my Sprint account so switching isn't an option right now.

since it takes 50 posts to be allowed in our Bargin Trader Forum, I suggest changing your sig on here and offering your trade details... also Craigslist has always been a great place for me personally to buy, sell, and trade phones..
