I'm using OC Auto 4.2.?. Running 806.4Mhz. Battery life went from not quite a day to three days on a charge! User interface is buttery smooth now. It's a whole new device!

OCAuto4.2 works great for me also, though only overclock to 749Mhz.

I have heard good things about using O/C on the TP2, hell, I even O/C my HD2 sometimes when playing like Final Fantasy 8 for instance at times.

Just try it out and see how well your device performs.

Your right about display size... sorry I should of more defined that, They both have a WVGA display, so same resolution.

Any program that runs on a HD2 I can attempt to run on my TP2 and for the most part, overclocking will get it running pretty good. I agree the TP2 has a Weak CPU and it was a very poor choice to use it. No one could make the TP2 run as fast as a HD2 but, you can get dam close.

As for games, yea, I have got a ton of HD2 games running on the TP2 really good but, not all of them, so, it's not perfect but, it does help and open doors to more games on this old phone of ours.

Nice thing about overclocking is you can underclock too, so when you need it you can go to 768mhz (in my case) or you can idle at 256mhz, so in theary, your battery should last longer when you just typing a text or something.

I guess it depeds on your overclocking app....

At idle my phone runs at 192mhz, you can do some reading here and people talk about it, I think it's the steping setting...

Ok... So I just tried WiMoSpeed and overclocked my TP2 but I see no major difference in preformance or otherwise.
Then it seems as though the overclocking is only good through your next soft reset. So I'll be trying a different cab.

This one is confirmed to be working by everyone: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-touch-...-shortcut.html

Here's a tip. In WiMoSpeed setup screen, there's a button to save the settings. Click it. It will save a shortcut in the INSTALL directory. Copy the file then "paste as shortuct" in your /device/windows/startup directory. It'll overclock after rebooting now. Just to be on the safe side, install WiMoSpeed to your storage card, so if there's an issue, you can just pop out the storage card. Since it's a shortcut in the startup menu rather than the actual overlock program, it can't overclock if the original file is gone.

I've tried all three methods. I like WiMoSpeed the best. It's been stable for the last 2 days i've been using it, and you can reset to stock speed when you want to boot Android. Runner up is netrippers/script with OC_auto4.2, but you have to reboot to reset the speed to stock.

Ifrwatz's original program wasn't usable for me. Oct1.5 constantly gave me SODs.

Actually... go into your WiMoSpeed folder in program files, copy and paste the file that probably looks something like "WiMoSpeed_748" and put that in your startup file in the windows file... your settings will stay after a soft reset.

I use the OCT1.5 app.
IMO it works great if you find and set the max speed to what your device can handle and then set it to 1 step so at idle it underclocks and then jumps to the high speed when needed.

Can someone link me a forum post to OC auto? Because I cannot decide which program to use. Does OC auto run as a driver like OCT? How old is it? Older or newer than OCT/ Winmospeed? Who was it made by?

I am trying to choose the best overclocking program that will offer the best/ stability performance clock for clock.
