no it doesn't show the "TOUCH PRO" and the text in red. i didn't drop my phone either. just stopped working, tried soft resetting.. then i noticed the boot screen wasn't even showing.
which leads me to this. i purchased an LCD from eBay.. but when i disassembled my phone and took a look at the flex cable, it seemed pretty worn out. i'm hoping the new lcd does the trick. |

ah, unfortunately I'm out of warranty (and i'm with Telus). this is actually my 3rd unit.

If you decide to fix it yourself buy the lcd/digitizer combo to make installation easy.
