Re: Can't unlock or upgrade my ROM
The Hard-SPL did the same thing on my pc. You need to add the Hard-SPL.exe to your exceptions list in your anti-virus program before trying to run it.

Re: Can't unlock or upgrade my ROM
You would think it would be quite easy to do but for some reason, my TP2 refuses to be unlocked. I've tried uninstalling the AV to putting exceptions in but whenever I reach the percentage screen it just stays at 0% until it times out and asks if I want to go to recovery mode. I've tried this on 3 different PCs, one a PC, another a notebook and the third a netbook. The only similarity between them all is that they are all running Windows 7 (2 64 bit and 1 32 bit).

Re: Can't unlock or upgrade my ROM
Yes, I used WMDC. I noticed that when the unlocking process starts, WMDC gets disconnected. I'm wondering if that is the reason why it doesn't download the program into the phone. It does this every time on all computers. I'm going to give it another shot at my sister's place. Her computer has Activesync. If it doesn't work there, I'm giving up and going Android.

Re: Can't unlock or upgrade my ROM
hey man, i had the exact same issue trying to unlock my sprint tp2. this is what i did...
1) hard reset your tp2. when it tries to boot for the first time, pull the battery out and put it back in. 2) now press and hold "volume down" and "power" to enter bootloader 3) plug the tp2 to the usb cable. at the bottom of the screen it will say "serial" then change to "usb". this means its connected to the pc and ready to unlock. 4) open the hspl, and everything should run smoothly now for some reason it seems that my tp2 would not unlock until i tried the hspl on a fresh rom that has never even booted/ran customizations for the first time. also something else to consider... make sure you use the htc usb cable that came with your tp2. i have a 16ft belkin usb cable with a mini usb adapter on the end and it will not work when i try to flash roms, i have to use the htc cable or my tp2 always loses the connection to the pc. i hope that helps. so try to use the htc cable and hard reset without letting the tp2 boot for the first time. i think that should solve your issue. i see you also have a sprint tp2 so i really think that will work. let me know. feel free to send me a message if you still have trouble. |

Re: Can't unlock or upgrade my ROM
The CDMA HSPL Unlocker should be the first sticky in the CDMA Touch Pro 2 Upgrades section of this site. Have you ever flashed a stock rom before? if you have never flashed a rom at all, i would download a stock rom and flash it to get the hang of things. If you dont have any trouble flashing a stock rom you should be able to handle HSPL unlocking. the applications are basically the same. the process is the same, all of the screens are the same, except you are flashing a SPL, not a rom. dont be nervous, i was nervous too lol. i wish someone would have told me the procedure was basically like flashing a rom. i kept reading and reading about hspl and only confused the hell out of myself...
a hard reset erases all data. if you flash a custom rom and do a hard reset afterwards, it will not go back to the stock rom. it will still be the custom rom. feel free to shoot me a pm. hope that helps |
