Quick question about stock ROM...
I got a NIB replacement TP2 cause the data started not engaging and the speaker had some issues.
Obvisouly this late in the game, it came with 6.5...(sigh). I dont like it vs. the 6.1. I just got mine looking great with an almost monochromatic theme and slimmed down, then this happens. So, my question is this: can i simply flash the the stock Sprint shipped 6.1 ROM over top the 6.5 with no issues? Thats all i want, i dont want posts saying i should flash a custom ROM, or that 6.1 sucks or any other opinions. Its what i want and no one can convince me otherwise. So, please answer the question or dont post, thanks

Re: Quick question about stock ROM...
no prob.... if you have an non SDHC card(under 4gbs) you can download the rom via your phones browser(itll take awhile) and flash right from your card while at work..

Re: Quick question about stock ROM...
Actually, thats what i did (d/l), but im gonna let my wife see if she likes it first, she wants a bigger screen than the Diamond offers. I can switch to my backup TP1 for a while and if she likes it, let her keep it and try to find a new TP2 later on.

Re: Quick question about stock ROM...
yea just simply goto the stock rom collection and download and flash the 6.1 one. ull need a couple of cabs tho such as the tweaks cab which can be found in the tp2 cleanup thread and a rilphone cab to stop the 2016 text message date display. if ur goin with a TP i would suggest that u use a kitchen to dump and port the 6.1 TP2 stock rom to it because the TP 6.1 stock roms are inferior, very old 2008 builds vs the TP2 which uses the 2009 builds that are more finger friendly.

Re: Quick question about stock ROM...
Probablynot what you want to hear... lol.
But If you have TEP and something happens to your TP1... Take it in to the store and they will replace it with a refurb TP2. This just happened to my wife and she refused the TP2... She likes the TP. Go figure. lol. She likes the flash and it's smaller size. Just saying... In case you don't have TEP... This might be a good time to add it. Just in case. But I'm glad you were able to get your answer and that you'll be back on 6.1. p. |
