Really no way to disable wake on SMS?

I've tried BB's tweaks, turning the option on and off, then restarting. I've tried manually changing the reg string to "0", then "1", still nothing changes. I searched for it on here and the last thread was from April where some folks said it's just not possible to turn it off on the CMDA tp2's, is that really the case? Any advancements since then? Why would that string be in my registry, but then not make any difference when I change the value?

Thanks guys, the whole waking on the new SMS in my pocket and randomly texting replies is getting annoying.

I'm running Energy from last month with WM 6.5, and using WM messaging.

Re: Really no way to disable wake on SMS?

actually I still think there is, not that it matters much anymore. I think I've bumped into a few things that may do it, but havn't taken the time to test anything.

if you want search the reg for tmail.exe is a good place to start.

Agreed, I am sick of getting a text in a loud environment not noticing it or able to acknowledge, then pulling my phone out to find I have pocketed it into oblivion.

Re: Really no way to disable wake on SMS?

I just tried the diamond hack cab, and it is exactly the same result as BsB tweaks, and the reg value change, nothing. I've checked the box to wake up, restarted, then unchecked and restarted, and the phone still wakes up with a new SMS even though the diamond hack cab still shows and empty box. There has to be some other value in the registry to change... the only one I've found is this one and apparently a 0 or 1 makes no difference whatsoever.

[HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:1

Yeah, same boat here. The best I came up with was this... If you're using a rom that has slide to unlock installed, like energy, you're good, if not then install the slide to unlock cab, then go start>settings>system>lock config, enable and check lock on suspend. It'll still wake the screen on a new message, but won't unlock the phone until you slide. Which works great for stopping the unwanted pocket mailings, but is an extra step every time you suspend/resume throughout the day

newest slide to unlock cab can be found here

Re: Really no way to disable wake on SMS?

I will try S2U again, I tried it a while back but alas, my pocket found a way to defeat it! It was pretty amazing. The best solution for me was when I had the TP1 was a holster but the magnet screws with the TP2 no matter what reg hack I do, so it is back to the pocket. (with as much as I grab for the fone, i cant stand a velcro case) Or I find that those geeky cellphone pockets on the side of some of my pants work well.

I have Energy ROM running now, I will try S2U again, thanks!

Re: Really no way to disable wake on SMS?

PocketShield FTW!!!

PocketShield is a locking app that you can configure to unlock based on the amount of light from the light sensor on your phone. So if it's in your pocket, and a new SMS comes in, there's not enough light to unlock the phone, so it stays locked. Then as soon as you pull it out of your pocket, BAM! there's light and it unlocks automatically. No extra steps required.

Re: Really no way to disable wake on SMS?

It's been discussed before, and unfortunately there hasn't been any progress.

There isn't a way to disable wakeup on incoming text messages. It has to do with the way Windows Mobile handles the change from EVDO to 1X. Text messages are sent on the 1X network so your phone has to switch in order to receive it. And the switch wakes up the phone.
