best emulator??

whats good fellas? Ok, so I am looking for the best SNES emulator. Currently I am rocking out MorphGear 2.4.9 (or whatever the latest one is). Now don't get me wrong, this is a decent emulator, it just lags on all my games, making it virtually impossible to enjoy anything other then Turn Based RPGs (Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and the like...forget about playing Super Metroid).

Is there an Snes emulator that does it's job better? I am itchin to tear up mother brain but sadly it ain't gonna happen with this rom. So any other snes emus that work better?

btw for my setting on MorphGear I disabled T9 for keyboard use, I am using GDI and my frame skip is set to the default 3. Maybe someone knows how to go about getting the settings tweeked to run better? Or would overclocking my Rhodium allow it to run smoother?

I am running the default clock speed and using NRG's Rom that came cooked with CHT 2.0, however downloading a Mr. X rom right now to replace it with as I find CHT 2.0 to be laggy on here anyway.

Any advice or help would be greatly appriciate and paid with mad thanks.

i would try overclock.. it does make a difference. im running the same rom as you OC'ed to a stable 768

does smartgear do Snes??? id look into it OP

I've used this emulator and I can vouch it is fast/stable for

Secret of Mana
Evo
chrono trigger
ff3

You will have to disable sound though to get decent fps.

1.). Install the t.getfile.cab so you can load roms.
2.) Extract snesgo.exe from the .rar and place it in desired folder, run it.

ok well after running a new Firmware and Overclocking I managed to get Morphgear to run pretty well.

I overclocked to 622mhz (originally tried 710, but found it made the games run WAY to fast. it was like Samus was on crack, lol). The rom I am using is VINdows Plutonium (with CHT 1.8.5 installed after the fact).
