Does installing apps to SD really save memory?

I've read a post where someone mentioned that they installed their apps to an SD card to save memory. (He was specifically speaking of RAM, not storage memory.) I'm curious about this because I seem to run about 80-85% RAM usage and would like to free some of that up.

So, question is:

1) Does installing apps to SD card really save RAM?

2) If the above answer is "yes", then how or why is this so?

Thanks,

David

It will only save device storage memory.

Re: Does installing apps to SD really save memory?

Seriously? Why would RAM be affected by where you install your apps to? RAM is the memory used for the OS and running apps. It has nothing to do with storage. Not everything can be installed to the SD card, though.

Re: Does installing apps to SD really save memory?

It's my understanding that apps like Pandora and SPBTV which tend to use a lot of space while running, need to be installed to the storage card, or they won't work. (correctly) (over the long haul)

Re: Does installing apps to SD really save memory?

best way to free up RAM is to install a 6.1 ROM on the stock i rarely go above 78% usage.
