Automatic Audio Switching Hands Free *Help*

So I bought one of these:

JL Audio CL-SES CleanSweep

The theory was pretty good, I think. I wanted to use my XM satalite radio, and my Garmin Nuvi on the same Aux input. With the above anytime my Nuvi made a sound the "clean sweep" would automatically switch over to the nuvi. My main reason for the purchase was to use the Nuvi as a hands free device, and have it go through my stereo and return to Sat radio when done.

It works flawlessly.....when the other person is talking. The audio signal sent from while the otehr party talks causes the input to change, unfortunatly while i'm talking there is no audio signal sent so it switches back to the SAT radio.

Does anyone have any ideas to keep a constant audio signal sent while connected to a call, and then have it stop when i hang up?

Re: Automatic Audio Switching Hands Free *Help*

have u tested different scenarios to see what may be causng it??

test calls without Nuvi running, but XM is..then try calls
test calls without XM running, but NUVI is.. then try calls

see first if you an pinpoint which is the culprit......

im asuming youve tried JUST making calls, wthout anything else running, to make sure it works standalone fine???

thats all i got for now

Re: Automatic Audio Switching Hands Free *Help*

The cause, I think, is that the unit automatcially switches when an audio signal is sent. When I am talking there is no audio. I think what i need to do is figure out a way to "trick" the unit into thinking there is an audio signal while i'm talking.
