Stop Country code auto added to calls

Can someone help, Whenever I place a call, my phone automatically adds 1 (***) ***-**** at the front of the number. Is there a way to get that to stop?

UPDATE: I figured it out from another thread, thanks everyone....
I searched, but when I manually was looking at threads I cam acrossed it...

Its funny, at least 35 threads a day are people who tried to flash and messed up, or wonder why in the middle of the night their phone up and did a hard reset by 'itself'.

Open the phone dialer, click menu and scroll to Global Smart Dialing. Uncheck the box.
