Re: Again: Notifications

Hahahahahahahahhahahahahah. LMAO. NOT well said, i was calling PEOPLE in GENERAL are STUPID myself including, people just are too lazy to see the problem and read deeper into the text, they go assuming right away. And i know this notification has been around. Im just saying that its a stupid thing, its common sense to figure out that i wont be sending or recieving text messages while not in coverage. Like really, its the same with an idiot light in your car. If windows will send the message when i enter coverage, why bother telling me? its just annoying. Like i cant emphasize enough how stupid it is to have it tell me i cant send a message while not in coverage.. like derrrr no crap. Again, common sense. It did that with EVERY carrier/phone i ever had. I just hoped with winMo being so tweakable that someone smart like you boredandtattooed would find a solution to things like this. and no i would not complain if it didnt notify me. Why would i? im smart enough to know i cant send messages while out of coverage and that it will be resent once i enter coverage. However if windows didnt automatically resend them once i entered coverage, and i had to manually myself resend them, then sure a notification would be helpfull. but thats not the case, winMo does it. So why are you(winMo) telling me i cant send while out of coverage and it will be resent once i enter coverage? And yeah everyone will always have SOMETHING to complain about. I have yet to find perfection. So point me in the right direction once you found it

it usually helps to re-read posts before making comments.. saves yourself from blantant contradictions..

you did call people stupid, and certainly EXcluded yourself from it.. also if it did it with every carrier/phone then why say "this is the stupiest thing MS did on "THIS" version of windows"??? making it sound like thats Not something that has been around for years and it was a New, Stupid feature to 6.5 only...afterall its in everything as you say, so why only hate on MS for it?

I didnt know someone who actually enjoys having a device thats easily and heavily moddable could obtain a perfect phone.. do you know somethng I dont? there is no perfect phone.. people can argue all sides of that statement but noone will ever agree.. Great this = Bad that.. itll still be that way for another year or so atleast(until batteries and how antenneas draw their power).. they give phones more commonly right now with High End,Current specs- but then the batteries suck ass or you cant hold the device a certain way and not drop calls.... so even those arent perfect..

But theres NEAR PERFECT, and thats not hard to obtain with some effort, reading, and some good ole' trial and error..

Yes, you can uncheck the boxes for pics, email, etc notifications, but there is no way to supress the notifications when there is a data error, a call is dropped, bluetooth is dropped etc.

Every time a call is dropped (signal fades) a bubble shows up explaining that the signal faded and a call was lost. If you are on an active BT connection and it drops, you get a message bubble. NONE OF THESE can be turned off in the sounds/notifications settings.
Disable "SMS Sent" (Verizon): XDA
Disable Bluetooth Connect/Disconnect/Volume Notifications: XDA

There are other notification managers I have used, but I have recently reset my device and I am still looking for the old configuration files. FYI, I used these under WM6.1. Handy's still works in WM6.5.

By the way, how did you kill the HTC Notification Manager? Was it this:
HKLM\Services\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER\Flags. It should be 0 by default - change it to 4?

I don't use Sense (or Titanium), just the plain "Today Screen".

Just my $0.02 YMMV

Re: Again: Notifications

apparently there is a lack of evdo where you have issues, but if your gettting data popups due to phone calls while in evdo then you need to run my suspend/resume cab in my sig.

evdo is supposed to pause data during a call/sms then resume the data.
