Re: gmail sync/push with windows 6.5?
Just as a follow up, I took it into a Sprint store and their tech's couldn't get it working either. Looks like this will stay unresolved

Re: gmail sync/push with windows 6.5?
for push gmail you can set up through ActiveSync also
setup directions for ActiveSync 1. click "Add Server Source..." 2. enter your email address "xxx@gmail.com" 3. uncheck "Attempt to detect Exchange..." click next 4. Within "Server address" type {m.google.com} click next 5. In User name type email address "xxx@gmail.com" then type password 6. click next (Don't worry about domain) 7. now here you can choose which ever you want to sync with google --Calender-- --email-- --contacts-- (you cannot use "Text Messages" or "Tasks" tabs so un-check them or this will not work)

Re: gmail sync/push with windows 6.5?
Just in case anyone is having the same problem, here is an update:
I went into a Sprint store and even their techs couldn't get it to work. I thought I was dead in the water. Yesterday I set up a Google Voice account. I was playing with sending voicemails, emails, and sms messages back and forth between my TP2 and an old Palm 700p I have. I also logged onto m.google.com/voice to check out the web interface. And lo and behold...my Gmail is now pushing/syncing on my TP2. I don't know if it's because I signed up for Google Voice, or that I signed on to GV's web interface, but something did it. Now that I think of it, when I ran Stock Rom with 6.1 I seem to remember having to log in to Gmail every now and then to get it working again. Not even necessarily from the phone...I just would log on with my laptop and that would do something. I'm not sure what any of this means, but maybe someone smarter than me can figure it out. Good luck all, hope something here helps. |
