Does Sense 2.5 download weather updates even if phone is on standby

I'm trying to figure out if I want to change updates from 1 hour or 12 hours.

If it updates when I'm sleeping...then I rather not update every hour.

on verizon's MR1 with sense 2.1 mine would do every 3 hours. I added the custom .cab to get it to download once an hour. And yes, it does it any time the phone is on then.

Now with VZW MR2 and sense 2.5 there's an actual setting. I have it set for once every hour, but I often notice that it hasn't updated within the hour.

So that's a long round-a-bout way to give you an answer of maybe...

put it in standby and go for a drive lol

it would be nice if you could control the peak hours for downloading things like weather and twitter

i traveled an hour away today and spent a few hours at the beach..

left my phone in the car.. grabbed it to check messages and 1:45 min later my weather was still showing the info from 3:45pm and it was then 5pm..

so no, weather does not update while device is sleeping..

i created a thread here a few days ago trying to do this for twitter. one of the problems for me is when my device wakes up first thing in the morning it is very slow trying to update weather/twitter at the same time. emails still come in regularly though, so i wonder if there is a way to tell what's the difference between the data services, and how to control them better? maybe it's something in the registry we can edit?
