Unhappy Help? Can I Manually Reset "Lock" Code?

Hey Everyone.

A week or so ago, my dog spilled coffee on my phone. I took it apart and dried it out- aside from running a bit slower, its been apparently fine.

Problem::
I use the "lock device" setting to prevent pocket dialing. Two days ago, my phone stopped recognizing my current lock code. I cannot get into my phone anymore. I have texts and calls piling up and no matter how many times i try it, it says its incorrect.

I KNOW it is the correct and current code. (unless my pocket changed it [unlikely] or someone else did)

I have reason to believe I've had a terrible joke played on me by someone in my family- however, its VERY VERY VERY inconvienent.

Is there a default reset code to unlock the Touch Pro 2?

I called my USC provider, but they say they'll have to charge me 50 bucks to replace or reset the phone to default factory settings- removing ALL of my photos, texts, contacts, Etc.

Again, VERY inconvienient.

Any Ideas?

Re: Help? Can I Manually Reset "Lock" Code?

option 1. find the person who changed your code, beat a lil ass.
option 2. hard reset. and beat a lil ass.
option 3. ask the phone very nicely to please unlock.

ps. i dont think option 3 will work.
somebody once told me you could slide out the keyboard and type the numeric equal of the word unlock. i dont think that works either though.

lmao. Well, if nothing else- I can try these things and hope they keep me chuckling. So far, none of them have worked to unlock the stupid thing.

Re: Help? Can I Manually Reset "Lock" Code?

As far as I know.. You're screwed. No pun intended, but I've seen many threads out there about getting locked out and the only way they fixed it was through hard reset. (Which if you did, I wouldn't pay anyone any money to do it. It's just a simple button combo)

Sorry I'm not much of help.. =\ I wish you luck in actually getting through it in avoidance of a reset, but as I said, that seems to be the only way.

Re: Help? Can I Manually Reset "Lock" Code?

Is there anyway to recover my files and everything if I have to perform the hard reset?

and whats with the little red RESET button behind my phones backing- next to the battery?

Is there ANY way to restore without a complete mem wipe?

your SOL on the backing up unless you have all your contacts and what not synced with your computer. the hard reset is going to wipe out the phone completely.

Re: Help? Can I Manually Reset "Lock" Code?

Sorry for the bad luck Do you use Microsoft MyPhone? Definitely may want to start using that after this hard reset..it'll update automatically every night (or once a week, or manually..whatever) at a specified time..can back up documents, storage card, music, pics, texts, favorites, and most importantly; contacts. Sorry for the bad luck

Re: Help? Can I Manually Reset "Lock" Code?

This is Exactly why I will never use the built in lock with WM, this happens so regularly and a big pain if you don't back you data up.
